A lot of vehicles use 6 quarts. My Toyota is 6.4 quarts. It is a lot easier to use 6 1 quart bottles than buying multiple 5 quart jugs.

that and single qt bottles for oil changes seems odd to me. I prefer the jug.

it is an old way of thinking. marketing to ole timers. many vehicles only took 4quarts. V8's only took 5 quarts.

Lots more plastic waste with 5 bottles vs 1 I would think

I watched the videos and it appears Kirland passed their tests.

Considering ( IIRC ) that both Costco and Walmart by their oil from the same refinery....

Yeah my Tundra as well. Last time these were on sale I stocked up on several 5qt jugs from in-store purchase then I bought a case of the 12 1qt bottles online for the additional 1.4qts my truck takes.

It was worth it to me to pay a little extra and have the little bottles around as well.

Edit:
Last week when they weren't on sale I happen to see the 1qt bottles in a business center store. I didn't take note of what oil weight or how many in the case or the price though. Just know they can be found locally if you have a business center near you.

Based entirely on this one comment I'm just going to assume you are the guy who changes his oil every 30k miles using only the most expensive premium oil and then is perplexed at that weird knocking sound coming from his engine at 90k miles.
