I own the Tech Pack 2 and it's probably my favorite travel tech bag. It can hold a lot with all it's compartments. My one and only complaint is that the bag cannot stand upright on it's own, empty or full. Small gripe but if anyone cares about that, just fyi.
AliExpress. Type in AER. Half the price and factory perfect. The bags from AER are made in China. Probably factory overruns made with same exact material and specs. Get them while they are available. Included CPP, day sling 3, and Day sling 3 max and others. Xpac.
Don't have to hate, it's just a suggestion if someone can't afford to buy direct. I usually say support the company but these are literally made in China and people are still making a profit selling them half price so AER is pricing them a little too high. I've also bought bags from them direct to support the business, just not all of them. I couldn't tell a single difference in bags.
I've owned both. Material, construction, and design is all better on Aer bags.

I have the Day Sling 3 X-Pac and the max version too in X-Pac. Both are great. I also got some Alpaka bags. Stupid me I got the Alpaka bags before the Aer bags. I have not even used the Alpaka bags because I wanted to see the Aer bags. When I got the Aer bags I didn't even bother with the Alpaka bags. Money wasted on Alpaka bags. Oh well.
I love my alpaka! Are you saying aer is that much better?

I think so. The most gripe I have with Alpaka is the strap. It is nice and thick but the looping parts to the FidLock bulges out and does not stay down instead it pops up around the looping area. Maybe it is because I have not broken them in.
That Marmot looks like one to look for. I'm not sure how I'd like the rolltop, even if I could afford the Wandrd one!
Kind of why I never used it. When I took it out the box and played around with it a little I really didn't like it that much, seemed like a hassle. For my camera stuff I ended up using an inexpensive Manfrotto backpack and works perfectly. MY Peak Design wasn't that great for camera stuff, taking all the dividers out and just having a big empty space to pack stuff in works best.
Wish the travel pack 3 or city pack pro or sling 3 were on sale.. that outside small zip pocket is useful for quick use, rather than having to open the full pockets and the increase in sizing..
When I travel international, a 25-40 liter backpack with a carry on is usually good for me to last 2-4 weeks..
Of course if I plan to buy stuff, you'll want to swap that carry on with a check in luggage.
Actually, I have the Travel Pack 3 and I do think it's the best you can get, but they screwed up the outside front pocket badly. It's way too deep and slim so it's practically unusable. They should have created two vertical openings into overlapping compartments for better access, such as TNF backpacks.

thanks..i'm actually thinking about buying a couple. which seller did you buy them from?
No, they're competitors in several product segments but Aer design philosophies are pretty different from PD actually. PD is a bit more focused on photo-carry and unique features, Aer is more hardcore EDC. Both are great thought and choosing between them is generally 100% subjective based on the features//layout you prefer.

I second that. I purchased my Aer bags from AliExpress. There were 3 different sellers. The first bag I got had free shipping (seller no longer has products in their storefront). The second bag I purchased was from a different seller that charged shipping. The third seller is the most expensive. Not really saving much from that seller. Even though, with shipping charge and taxes it was still more than 50% less than actually purchasing direct from Aer. These bags are very expensive just like other brands but they are worth getting one or owning one. If you can get them cheaper do so.
It seems buying from Aliexpress is a much better deal.
But it seems if you buy multiple items from one store, they don't really reduce shipping. I wonder if there is a way to communite with the seller/store?

If you use a new email and phone number there's Internet coupon codes for money off various amounts spent. Covered a lot of cost of shipping for me a few times.
Also when I went to use PayPal checkout it took the coupon off as PayPal gave my usual address and number back to AliExpress.

Is Aliexpress a reputable and safe sight to buy from though? I went and checked it out, they had the bags for cheaper. But don't know if it's good quality.
Going to tahiti/moorea for 4 days with just my wife (no kids with us, so no extra crap). Not bringing a work laptop, which of these bags is good for the plane/going to the beach daily? (ipad, chargers, battery,an extra shirt, and flip flop?

no snark, I mean, its a necessary question to ask, but its kind of like saying is Amazon reputable and safe? It depends who you buy from and what your goal is. Are you looking for authentic stuff, or really good fakes? my wife uses aliexpress constantly and knows what shes buying. From my understanding (from her) the seller she buys from is connected somehow to a factory/store that sells LEGITIMATE/AUTHENTIC goods, out there was either a minor defect with the material perhaps? At the end of the day, a Louis Vouitton bag bought from a LV store and a "fake" one purchased from AliExpress were manufactured at the same factory with the same raw material.

AliExpress has your back if something goes wrong. Just make sure your stuff actually shows up and read reviews

Alpaka is fantastic quality. Obviously everyone's opinion is different, but my alpaka gear is every bit the quality of my Aer. Some even better.
