I learned my lesson after buying from JC Penny. Quality of couch and love seat was really bad.

I found an item I liked then did a Google search for it and found it $200 cheaper at Target.

Bingo. That's how most retailers operate. It's tactics like this (when it's not furniture) that make me compare their asking price to places like Ali express just to know if I am *actually* getting my moneys worth.

Our leather couches are 5 years old now from a jcpenny sale. $330 each shipped for electric reclining lesther sofas. Best deal ever.

Maybe hit and miss. I bought a chair 13ish years ago, at an outlet for $40, that is used daily and nightly, feather stuffed seat and backing. Has held up great, with occasional beating/ fluffing ofcourse.

JCPenney is barely a store anymore, it's more like a shell company. It's owned by two mall operators (Simon and Brookfield) to prop up their dying malls, that way they can keep rents high for other tenants (a lot of leases and the amount of rent paid are contingent on having an operating mall anchor store.
