Wish they didn't make it so hard to determine what legs qualify. I was hoping to book some flights for the summer, but most WC to EC legs don't qualify.

If I already have a flight this summer that I bought with money, can I cancel it, get the points and then rebook it with points so I'll save 25% (even if it is in points; understanding I'll not get any money back)?

That would be a "No". You would get flight credit refunded. Not points. You either buy points, or earn them from travel purchased and flown.

I put in the code, no indication it's saving anything. I guess that means the flights I want don't qualify

Yes, if you cancel, they will just give you credit you can use whenever. Southwest credit no longer expires after one year of original flight booking.

However, if you don't have existing points, you may not be able to book it, as points likely won't get added to your account until after you fly.

Yeah I can't find any flights that qualify. This is stranger than most of their sales

I'm getting a big red box on the website that says "promotion code cannot be validated" but with a bunch of potential reasons why.

Same prices as yesterday with points. Do I need to do something for the discount to apply?

I guess the main issue is Southwest sales have always been completely marketing and not actual sales. "flights from 49!" and you find it only applies to flights from Houston to Austin or something and every other flight is regular price.

Not sure about prior price, but it worked for me at a price I would consider very good so I am happy. Thanks. Sea to Oak.

Agree, this is much worse than past sales with a code as far as finding the flights. I did find some qualifying flights, but then when I switch to monthly view, they no longer show. So I have to scroll day by day. And in the past, I have been able to rebook an existing itinerary and the code will apply. Today, I couldn't get it to apply to the existing itinerary -- I ended up canceling and rebooking.

I also got the big red box with most of the flights I checked.
