I don't have this product directly, but one just like it from Eufy. The removable fountain from the base is a game changer. If you guys are looking for a water fountain for your pets, get one with a removable fountain. I can't recommend them enough.

They stay cleaner longer too without the worry of the water pump getting clogged with biomatter as it uses a magnet in the base to spin the free floating propellor in the fountain to push water upwards to the spout.

When you wash it, don't lose the propellor!
Fountains aren't gimmicks for cats. Cats prefer moving water and will drink more water because of it. Better hydration is better for their health. Something in their DNA has programmed them that moving water is better than still water. Before I got a fountain my cat would constantly splash the water everywhere with his paw before drinking it because cats don't like drinking from still water. It would make a mess and I'd come home to an empty bowl with water all over the floor. The fountain has resolved the issue.
Good price but... It uses nonstandard square filter which is expensive and hard to find ...

If you get this for your pets PLEASE wash it regularly! I love that this has a removable base to make washing easier, I wish the one we had did that. This needs to be washed often (just like other food/water bowls), so for your fur babies sake, please wash it AT LEAST once a week. They will start to develop a slime if you don't.

Agreed it's very important to replicate the fresh natural spring water that dogs and cats would have out in the wild.

They can see their reflection in still water and it freaks them out as much as me seeing Mr. Pickles sitting next to my head staring at me when I wake up in the middle of the night.

Also, change the filters regularly. For ours it is recommended to change it every 2 weeks.

It makes sense. Stagnant water in nature is a lot less safe than running water.

I noticed my 6 month old cat going in and out of the litter box and looking stressed. Immediately thought he was dehydrated. Bought a stainless steel one on Amazon and it changed everything. I would recommend not getting plastic and if you do clean it often especially the little crevices. The steel one I have doesn't have any crevices and looks like it would outlive both cats and myself.

Don't be stupid and think that all cats will drink enough from a bowl.

Several of my cats WILL NOT drink from even the pool in a fountain, they want to drink directly from the stream of water. Some insist on drinking from both.

A couple want a LONG stream of water, so I added a pump to a large waterer and heat bent a large J-pipe connected to the pump, so they have a clear stream of water for several inches before it hits the pool.

If you don't give a cat enough water choices (one fountain isn't enough in a house, even for one cat), they won't drink enough and the vet bills can get steep.

My cats like this one, I learned they don't like free falling water. But finding the right fountain helped them a lot. Flush their bladders, helps with sinus allergies, less scratching at themselves. I'm watching for ceramic though.

My vet recommends glass or ceramic for (standing) water dishes just fyi.

The bowl will. The pump will not.

Ours definitely prefer the toilet flushed.

(Yes, we already water down canned food, hold off on the pitchforks.)

I went through 2 fountains from this company and the pumps were garbage. We were diligent with cleaning and keeping the water level above minimum, but the first one burned out after 6 months and the replacement after about 3. Different model, but I'm not sure I trust the company anymore.

It works great for small dogs and encourages them to drink because water is constant recirculating. If you have a medium sized dog, or anything bigger than a big maine coon, it might not make sense.
Thanks!

I now want a big main coon to go along with my dog.

As an owner of a cat that had bladder stones, I'd have to disagree. He drinks much more water with a fountain

I bought the Wopet water fountain in 2023 and it is cheaper and has worked great. The filters are cheaper and it's quiet and easy to clean.
I'd recommend this 👌

How about a 40lb beagle?
