Wellbots[wellbots.com] has Ecoflow DELTA 2 1800W LiFePO4 Portable Power Station on sale for $799 - $200 w/ discount code SPRING200 = $599. Shipping is free.
Diy cost benefits are not worth the hassle or time for smaller capacity.
Lead acid can only use about half of its rated capacity and at 63lb its heavy and charge much slower than lithium. And 1200wh sla can only output enough current for 600w. It's not even comparable
Getting closer to 500 hold the line

Your AC is unlikely to pull full rated wattage the whole time. Most are only going to run .33-.5 of the time.
I ran a test the other day as we had an 80* day finally so it started off on fan mode for 1st few min at 50-100 watts. Then when it kicked in jumped up to 500ish range for a while then a bit later stayed in 1020-1036 everytime i checkdd on it. We ran it for about 4 hours and it seemed to stay about that wattage. 80* day isnt too hot but i didnt see it throttle down at the times i checked it. I hope it doesnt stay constant 1kw

Yeah that is crazy high. Just wanted to mention it just in case. Generally I don't think these portable units are going to be great for stationary heavy use like that.
This size though is amazing for what I do in Texas. Being able to bring this+an industrial fan anywhere i am working and run it/power tools? Life saving in so many otherwise exhausting situations during summer.

Yeah it is pretty high but cant use a normal window ac unit sadly.
But yeah like i mentioned just need it for the daytime. So wont run 24/7 though would be nice. And yeah not running ac these ecoflow units are BEASTS
I don't have space on my panel to add 3 110 lines for 3 mini split installs. Wondering if this would work as a breaker for a 110 mini split. Essentially just keep the "generator" plugged into wall socket / grid and then plug mini split into a power station? Could always add solar later but the real issue is not being able to add dedicated circuits for the mini splits.

A complete new panel is 2500-4000 depending on location
An investment in the VALUE of your home.
Alternatively, a sub panel would be significantly less than the cost of this(again, adding value)
Potentially you can also just convert the breakers to the half size (1/2")
A couple hundred $$ and/or easy DIY.

Thank you so much! I thought I was SOL and was going to have to piecemeal something together diy but now I know what to ask / worth it to talk to an electrician. Quote for a new panel i got was 6k but worth asking around!
Has anyone used these as a power source for a trailer? We boondock mostly and I was wondering if I can hook my 200w solar panel to these and then leave the trailer plugged into these at all times. In theory would it drain these before it would run off my trailer batteries essentially expanding the capacity of my trailer batteries while also having 110v power at every plug in the trailer all the time?
I'm not talking running my trailer ac off these. We don't run the ac but sometimes the heater running at night will drain my batteries down.
Wondering if I can get away with using a delta 2 and the extra battery instead of carrying a generator.
If you are mostly boondocking and you already feel like you need more battery storage the money would be better spent on more solar panels, as many as you can fit, and upgrading your existing battery capacity. (If you are typically traveling where there is sun to take advantage of.)
Nothing replaces having a gas generator for when the weather is not cooperating.

Another thought, If you are maxed out.
And if you have electric clothes dryer.
Look into Heat pump combo washer dryer ($2000)
Just Plugs in the washing machine outlet...Freeing up 2 x1 inch breakers(or 4x 1/2").
If you have a hot water heater that uses electricity...can get a heat pump water heater that is available for 120volts $2500-$3000 (also saving 1-3 spaces).
(Works best in warm to moderate climate)
Rather than spending the 3-6k in the panel, you would be buying efficient appliances and be saving lots of money yearly.
(Lots of areas have rebates plus there is the Fed tax credit)
Recently these have been hitting more and more interesting prices for me. I'm trying to decide on going the full DIY route or with one of these systems. If anyone here has comments for that, I'm all ears!
It is about the same price. I build one but, it is not carry friendly. I would say go for it . It is affordable now and the expansion part of is is great .
DELTA 2 extra battery or DELTA Max extra battery. only the max extra batt is lipo4
You have this backwards, as the EcoFlow website (and other reviews) show that the Delta 2 Extra battery uses the newer/better LFP (LiFePo4 chemistry) while the Delta Max extra battery uses the older NCM chemistry, which isn't as safe and has far fewer cycles.

Wave2, overpriced and leaks
River2, bought it refurbished and it doesn't charge properly (DC and solar are hosed, AC works fine)
Delta 2 plus extra battery, these are the only ones that work well

Have to agree with them too, as I do own the delta extra 2 battery, plus u can't argue with the ecoflow website 😂
