Diy cost benefits are not worth the hassle or time for smaller capacity.
Lead acid can only use about half of its rated capacity and at 63lb its heavy and charge much slower than lithium. And 1200wh sla can only output enough current for 600w. It's not even comparable
Getting closer to 500 hold the line

Recently these have been hitting more and more interesting prices for me. I'm trying to decide on going the full DIY route or with one of these systems. If anyone here has comments for that, I'm all ears!
I am in the same boat as you. I like the idea of a DIY, but for the work itself, sourcing all the products, having a nice neat portable item... well, for something in the range I have been looking (I have been looking at the 100ah sized batteries), it seems like something like this unit would be a good compromise. It may cost a few dollars more, but much less of a hassle. If I could get a killer price on a battery, that would help. But, then I look at all the components and start getting distracted by all the various pieces I would like to add (outlets and such), and, well, it gets to be a lot more work. Damn decisions!

It's actually much less because you aren't going to be getting the full 1kwh rated capacity. You are looking more at 800wh. With two batteries, you're looking at roughly 1.6kwh which will run his AC non-stop for essentially 1 hour if it's rated at 1500watts.

Nailed it, a guy on YouTube measured 74 percent efficiency for the ecoflow line. I have this and it's been pretty good.

Does this have active-on? Meaning if the battery drains and the power comes back on, anything plugged into it will also turn on? My scenario is that I currently have a UPS for a cabin where the power goes out quite often. Looking for something that I could plug the router and wifi equipment in to that could keep it on for a few hours/days(?), which would hopefully be enough for the power to come back on. Could this be a good product for that use case? Thanks!

How long would this single delta to run your average typical mini refrigerator? And I am assuming adding an extra battery would double the time.

You could go for days because it's not always running the compressor. Prob a good 5 days

Quote from TheCarlton :
The short answer is that the EcoFlow cannot be used as a UPS for a computer. The EcoFlow takes about 30ms to switch to battery power when the power goes out. This interruption will cause the computer to reboot. A true UPS switches in about 2ms.

However, the EcoFlow can be used to extend the runtime of a true UPS and it can be used for less sensitive loads, such as refrigerators or sump pumps. So the EcoFlow is an emergency backup power supply, but not an uninterrupted power supply.

Full details here: https://ecolab-power.com/emergenc...ns-as-ups/
not true. 30 ms is fine. i'm doing it now.

Can anybody tell me if one of these could be used to charge trolling motor batteries without lugging an ac charger around? Is the BMS capable of draining into lifepo4 batteries?

Apologies for cross posting:
This needs pure sine wave inverter to be charged using A/C. My 4runner's 110V output won't be good because it's not pure sine wave, and the 12V charger (to charge this on the go) would be too slow.

Does anyone know if the Anker SOLIX C1000 get charged on modified (non pure) sine wave AC?

For f sake, people, get a generator. These annoying little battery backups are a waste of money. If your HOA or apartment complex tards have rules about noise during an emergency, flip them the bird. run this mofo from ground level with an extension cord. if anyone touches it, run a live wire and electrocute them. If you want to play angry birds in quite when a storm strikes, get a life. If you need to run a CPAP for your granny, this isn't the solution bro. maybe put her in assisted living. Other than that, grow some nugs and let freedom ring.
