The keys are no longer proprietary with their latest refresh, it comes with 2 standard keys now that you can make copies of. I ordered from Amazon yesterday and just installed it this evening.
Ehh I like the products but they don't support WPA3 and the tried gaslighting everyone here the exploits found. I wouldn't trust them for a lock.
The one linked in the OP has Wifi built-in and doesn't require the additional separate bridge

I've had this lock for about a year now. The lock needs woken up before a fingerprint or code can be used. Waking up requires tapping on a number then waiting for a few secinds until the numbers illuminate. Once it's woken up it works great, but before that, youll be waiting for it to become responsive.

I thought the issue must be with my lock as it doesnt make sense that they wouldnt catch it during their testing, but Eufy even sent me a replacement lock under warranty and the replacement had the same issue. Apparently they don't poll the screen often in order to conserve battery, so it registers the touch whenever it next polls.

Other than that, the lock is super quiet, which I like. When it is ready for a fingerprint it's very fast to read it. If you try and open the door too quickly before it's done unlocking, the pressure of the deadbolt on the wood of the doorjam will be enough to stop it from unlocking because the motor is not strong enough.
I went ahead and bought another of these to replace my existing one that needs to wake up in order to input a code or read fingerprints. The new one works great and there is no need for it to wake up first, so for anyone else that had this issue and want to try again, I think this one will solve your issues.

I'm guessing the first lock I had was an original (revision 0 if you will). That one came with a battery that took a micro USB charger. The one Eufy sent as a replacement was a revision 1, according to the box. That one has a battery that takes a usb-c charger. Both those locks need woken up before they will let you unlock them. The ones that Amazon is sending out now are revision 3, so it seems like they have fixed some hardware issues.

Personally I would pay the a few dollars more for the Aqara. Much better product many extra features. You can unlock it with a fingerprint, hidden key slot , code, iphone, apple watch, or remotely with a bridge or Apple TV.
Fingerprint and More Ways to Unlock】The Smart Lock U100 offers multiple ways to unlock, including a high-precision fingerprint reader for up to 50 fingerprints, remotely configurable passwords via the Aqara Home app (An Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub is required), one-time local passwords for visitors, and a mechanical key for emergency use. * The NFC card is not included and is sold separately.
【Automations with Aqara and Third-Party Devices】With an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub, the Smart Door Lock U100 is compatible with third-party ecosystems like Google Home, Alexa, IFTTT as well as the Aqara Home app, allowing it to be easily integrated into a wide range of smart home setups and used in smart home automations. For example, when someone presses the Aqara Video Doorbell G4, you will be able to view who is at your door and easily unlock the U100.
【Auto Lock & Do Not Disturb Mode】Thanks to the built-in gyroscope inside the lock, the auto-lock feature locks the door for you after you close it. Alternatively, you can disable this feature and leave the door always open. Also, the Do Not Disturb mode can mute the door lock sounds within a certain period of time, to avoid affecting your family's sleep when you get back home late.
【A Durable and Secure Biometric door Lock with Long Battery Life】 The U100 is powered by 4 AA 1.5V batteries (included) and has a long battery life of up to 8 months. Also, a USB-C port for emergency charging is available. The lock body made of zinc alloy has an IP65 rating and complies with the same safety standard as BHMA Level 3. It's capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from -31°F to 151°F. Your sensitive data (e.g., fingerprints) is stored locally and fully AES encrypted.

It will be easier to break the windows or glass door in the backyard than trying to hack the wifi smart lock
I think the theory is someone walks up with a laptop that allows them to discretely enter a home without looking like they are burglarizing it so no one questions their motives until it's too late

Here's my review on the lock....

I've had this lock for a little over three years. It has problems! First, as shown in the picture, the glass is delaminating. This started at about the 1 year mark. It doesn't affect the the functionality of if, but it looks like crap.

Many bugs to report....
1. About 15% of the time, when leaving the house, I'll unlock the door, step outside and close it, place my finger on the sensor, and the door tries to unlock itself (it's already unlocked). I then have to retouch the sensor to lock it.

2. It hates one of my sons. It recognizes his fingerprint, but loudly states "The door failed to lock, please try again." This is when the door is locked and he's trying to get in. This randomly happens with others, but it's about 50% of the time with him vs. 5% with others.

3. I have an Alexa routine that includes locking the door when I say goodnight. About 20% of the time, if the door is already locked it gives the "Door failed to lock message" and sends a notification to everyone that has the app installed. If I'm not already sure the door was locked, I have to go and check that it is.

4. Alexa will lock the door, but after about 30 secs she says "Sorry, front door isn't responding".

5. Mine is the same model number, but this says it's a newer version. My older version also has a 10,000 mAh battery, but the charge only lasts about 3 months

The fingerprint sensor works very well. I've had little issue with it unless my finger is wet. The app works great and has a lot of functionality to it.

This does some what work with home assistant. I think the hacs integration is trying it's best but can be flaky
