The light has a stated output of 110 lumens, that's about same as a 15 watt incandescent bulb.
If you already have one and want to boost the output, you could try wiring in a MR16 LED lamp. The MR16 has an output to over 1000 lumens. Though you will need to consider heat.

Skip the flashlight it's junk. Very dim.

Using a big battery keeps it from tipping over when you are working under a car.
Bright enough for any household task or repair and the best part, it runs all week during a power failure without needing the pack recharged.
I don't want to argue. If there is nothing to compare it to, it's fine, however Kobalt's 20V is more diffuse and almost twice as bright. Also, I paid only $10 for the Kobalts on clearance at Lowes. A bargin brand like Kobalt shouldn't make a better flashlights. I have pictures somewhere if anyone cares. This is coming from a sweatshirt wearing DeWalt fan.

Every DLC040 small flashlight that I own came with a multi-pack of tools. I have 3 now (plus the big spotlight and the medium size light.)
The small flashlight alone is overpriced and underwhelming. Never gets hot but I can understand if you upgraded the OEM bulb you could easily generate excess heat. Even so, I might try that modification on one of my lights.
As a DIY enthusiast, I've been eyeing the DeWalt 20V MAX XR Brushless Oscillating Multi-Tool for a while now. This deal is perfect timing for me! Can't wait to add it to my collection and tackle some projects around the house. Thanks for sharing!
I was about to say I was going to pick up the DEWALT DCH133B 20V Max XR Brushless 1" D-Handle Rotary Hammer Drill at amazon.com for $132 because after the 5% credit card rebate from Amazon it's less expensive than the $129 from woot tr same thing... However sometime between the 10th and today my Amazon credit card with 5% rebate has been removed from my Amazon account. My backup card is active, but using it I don't get the 5% Amazon credit card rebate. Is this a one-time glitch or did they purposely remove the 5% credit card from my account to save money?
My kid was watching Be Amazed at the best tools for any job and the multi-tool came up. It looked really awesome. I thought to myself I should check slickdeals jic. Its a slickdeals miracle!

The same oscillating tool usually goes on sale, with a battery and charger, for $99 at Home Depot and Lowes. That's when I got mine. The extra $12 for battery and charger seems worth it.

Any big battery will do. We probably have used 9 or 12s and have never come close to draining it before power is restored.
