1. Setup a rewards account.

2. Buy batteries.

3. Next day you should have the cost of the bateries you paid out of pocket in your rewards account to use on any thing they sell including postage stamps.

Expert tip: If you have old ink or toner cartridges you can recycle them in the store and $2 ea will be added to your account IF you have spent $10 or more out of pocket that month.

For this deal, one could buy the batteries and recycle up to 10 tonner/ink cartridges. One could also ask for a price match on the batteries for wallymart, Target, Amerzon,BB or Staples if they are cheaper there. I like to use this deal this way. I print out the Amerzon battery page or have it up on my phone and simply ask at the register to pm it. This way you get all of the money spent and the recycling back in rewards for the least out of pocket expense.
Wow!! With this many Duracell batteries I can pretty much destroy every toy in the house!!

Duracell leaks more than any other battery in my experience.
Do you also get 100% cash back from Amazon? If not, then it's a completely different deal.

dumb question, these reward will expire??
yes they do expire. 6 to 8 weeks later, depending on the date you earn them. I can useually get to spend 3 months of rewards 4 times a year. I often have $90+ earned to PM on something nice,

No you will not earn/receive rewards for any amount that you pay with rewards.

They usually expire in 3 months. The batteries I purchased 4/15 and ink I recycled, the rewards I received expire 7/31.

Still no where close to as good of deal as the 100ct AAA AC Delco batteries from Amazon $24.99 [amazon.com] 100ct AA AC Delco batteries from Amazon $27.99 [amazon.com]
TLDR: Purchase price is only one factor, and you can profit with these. You cannot profit when only comparing to other places battery prices. You save more out of pocket, but it costs you much more in the NET after working the system if you do it correctly.
----------------------------------------------

You, just like so many others, are missing the big picture. FREE AFTER REWARDS. For those who refuse to work the OD/OM (profit-making with ink recycling) rewards system, your deal is fine. All you are talking about is price comparison for the purchase. Did you read the other posts?

Recycle 10 carts (you can buy in bulk cheap on ebay. I can get 700 for about $100 last time I got some). Since I also do recycling with Staples, I can go through them faster. That is a different system but can be very similar as far as coming out ahead.

With OD/OM, recycling 10 carts profits you $20 in rewards per month when you do a deal like these batteries with 100% back in rewards. You have to buy $10+ out of pocket per month to get qualified. So these batteries kill two birds with one stone. They are free after rewards and they count towards your monthly spending if paid for out of your pocket (not with rewards).

Yes, it is a little work. It isn't for everyone, but every time this deal gets posted people want to ONLY compare the cost of these batteries to batteries from other places. That is just one factor. You will never get 100% of your (pre-tax) price back in rewards elsewhere. So anything you pay elsewhere is not as good a deal (NET).

Another widely known factor is the leaking. There are posts about this every time as well. Often people say they have gotten replacement batteries when they complain to Duracell or even replacement items that got damaged by the leaking. So my advice is to check now and then and do not leave these in your items if not in regular use for long spells.

If I find batteries leaking in an item, I clean it up with a Q-Tip and alcohol and replace the batteries and I am good to go. Some people you could not pay them to use these, and others only use these- My Mom for example.

Sorry for the long post, but I hope you and others read all of these posts and learn to take advantage if they would like to.

Does reward need to be used in full? I have $13 reward, only need to buy something that's only $5.

In addition:
1. Office Depot pricematches Amazon. So before buying in store, have the link to a cheap set of Duracells at Amazon on your smartphone. Makes it easy on the sales associate and saves you time standing at the counter.

2. Never, ever use existing Rewards to buy the batteries. If you mistakenly do so, you will NOT earn rewards on the battery purchase. Same is true with other rewards purchases. Must buy with new money.

3. You can combine activities to maximize your gain. For example, buy batteries using price match while turning in ten cartridges. If the Amazon price was, say $18 per package, and you bought two, then you will receive $56 in rewards ($18+$18+$20) on your $36 purchase. Worst case, at the end of the expiration date for the rewards, buy a roll of stamps. They are "forever" stamps so you will be insulated from future stamp price increases which have been considable lately.

4. Most batteries leak but my experience with Duracells have shown them to leak more than any other brand. So don't leave them installed in a device for lengthy periods that you don't use often. They'll eat away the device's electrical connections.
In general, I do all of these in terms of pricematching and purchasing then doing ink recycling. Just wanted to note for everyone, according to their website and my experience "Restrictions, Exclusions, and Limitations
Price matches are limited to one (1) Competitor price match per identical item per guest. Services that include delivery, installation and extended warranties are excluded."
