3. Next day you should have the cost of the bateries you paid out of pocket in your rewards account to use on any thing they sell including postage stamps.
Expert tip: If you have old ink or toner cartridges you can recycle them in the store and $2 ea will be added to your account IF you have spent $10 or more out of pocket that month.
For this deal, one could buy the batteries and recycle up to 10 tonner/ink cartridges. One could also ask for a price match on the batteries for wallymart, Target, Amerzon,BB or Staples if they are cheaper there. I like to use this deal this way. I print out the Amerzon battery page or have it up on my phone and simply ask at the register to pm it. This way you get all of the money spent and the recycling back in rewards for the least out of pocket expense.
Wow!! With this many Duracell batteries I can pretty much destroy every toy in the house!!
Duracell leaks more than any other battery in my experience.
Do you also get 100% cash back from Amazon? If not, then it's a completely different deal.

A. sign up for rewards account
B. pay too much for batteries (use pricematch or coupon!)
C. get back amount you paid (minus tax) to spend on something else in store.*
D. get up to an additional $20 rewards by also recycling up to 10 empty ink cartridges, when you spend $10 minimum in any month.**
*100% rewards usually issued within a week Rewards expire, don't remember how long exactly, but at the end of the month usually 2-3 months from issue.
**Rewards are considered a discount, so they don't count towards the amount you've spent or towards earning additional rewards (in most cases.) Cartridge recycling only earns rewards if you've spent at least $10 in the same month. Doesn't have to be at the same time. Before or after is fine.

In addition:
1. Office Depot pricematches Amazon. So before buying in store, have the link to a cheap set of Duracells at Amazon on your smartphone. Makes it easy on the sales associate and saves you time standing at the counter.
2. Never, ever use existing Rewards to buy the batteries. If you mistakenly do so, you will NOT earn rewards on the battery purchase. Same is true with other rewards purchases. Must buy with new money.
3. You can combine activities to maximize your gain. For example, buy batteries using price match while turning in ten cartridges. If the Amazon price was, say $18 per package, and you bought two, then you will receive $56 in rewards ($18+$18+$20) on your $36 purchase. Worst case, at the end of the expiration date for the rewards, buy a roll of stamps. They are "forever" stamps so you will be insulated from future stamp price increases which have been considable lately.
4. Most batteries leak but my experience with Duracells have shown them to leak more than any other brand. So don't leave them installed in a device for lengthy periods that you don't use often. They'll eat away the device's electrical connections.
Yes. Usually within about 2-3 months. Can't remember exactly. The good news is that OD will send you an e-mail alerting you that your rewards will be expiring soon. Also, they expire at the end of the month. So just make a mental note to buy something before the end of the month.
Funny thing is that I've been in the store at the end of the month and other customers are also there looking to use their expiring rewards. Once, the store was out of stamps due to this.
