3.0 out of 5 stars Drain Valve Extension Kit
Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2023
Verified Purchase
The 2 star rating is for the packing, not the product itself. I used this to extend the drain valve for my Craftsman 5.5 hp 25 gal (mod 919.1650230) air compressor to make it easier to drain the tank after use. Worked great for that. The issue was with the packaging itself. The envelope it was delivered in was not opened or damaged at all, but the product packaging was torn open and one fitting was missing. The product was advertised as new, but it looked like it had been opened and returned. I did not need to additional fitting it came with, so worked out okay for me.

Dont buy it. It isnt worth a cent. Of course the return window is closed and I wasted another $15.
Edit: The seller reached out to me and I explained I had purchased two, and that one had blown out the ball valve shortly after installation. They immediately offered me a replacement or refund. I requested a refund (as I had already purchased another valve elsewhere) and they issued the refund that same day. So rest assured, this is a GOOD SELLER that will make things right if you have a problem. I have upgraded my review to reflect the great service.

3.0 out of 5 stars Get ready for the whistle

It does what it says it does and beats reaching under the tank to open the drain,,, but it's not perfect. This thing whistles extremely loudly, sounds 2x louder than the original drain almost painfully. It also tends to freeze up and stop venting several times while draining. I do wish it came with a mounting strap or fixture or something. I just zip tied it in place. You don't want this thing flopping around while venting 150 psi, I know wow.

These nuts are not free spinning. They are fixed to the hose. Installation was a pain. The hose looks good but installation would have been much easier if the nuts would move independently from the hose.

Fitting was installed and was not over tightened. Suddenly it blew apart at the threads after it was under 120psi pressure for about 30 minutes . Now I am having a heck of time trying to get the broken fitting out of the bottom of my compressor that is only 2 years old. I am very disappointed as there must have been a perocity issue with this fitting.
Update: The seller contacted me and provided a refund for the defective item. While I am still disappointed in the product I must say I am happy with the seller about their integrity. I changed the rating from 1 to 3 stars. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. I was just the unlucky one who got a lemon.

Yes, it works fine. It was nice that they supply teflon tape to give a nice secure connection to drain. The only issue is when you open the drain valve, you have to be careful since the flex tube will wiggle all over the place if not attached somehow. Just be aware of that. All else seems good.

Works ok... It means slowly. Going to have to purchase another shut off valve to close before this one.... And will use this to drain water out with letting all the air out of the tank.

Used on a 17 Expedition 3.5L oil catch can. I wanted to be able to drain it remotely. Works, but it doesn't like to turn corners.

So beware the brass elbow they use on these are el-cheapo : I ordered one a couple years ago and when I went to undo it this past week, just tapping it made it fall off leaving half of it threaded inside (that took some work to get out!). The second picture compares a $5 elbow from a box store on the right to the "Hromee " one on the left, the right one looks thicker. I bought another one of these kits and swapped the 90 degree elbow. Don't want it cracking off again.
