Agreed. Best strategy to apply this is to do it early morning when the grass is covered in dew. This will save you from having to manually water the lawn.
I'm not the biggest fan of Weed N Feeds or 3-in-1 lawn products. But if you are going to use this, make sure your lawn is wet/damp before applying. Otherwise it will do nothing for the weeds.
The best time to apply fertilizer that includes weed-killing properties, commonly referred to as "weed and feed," depends on the type of weeds and the climate of your area. For the most effective results, you should target weeds during their active growth periods.

For cool-season weeds, which include types like dandelion and chickweed, the ideal time for treatment is in the fall, when these weeds are actively growing and preparing for winter. For warm-season weeds, like crabgrass and nutsedge, the best time to apply weed and feed is during the spring or early summer, when these weeds start their growth cycle.

The timing of application is also important throughout the day. It's recommended to apply weed and feed early in the morning when there is still dew, as this helps the granules stick to the weed leaves, or after watering your lawn. However, avoid application during the heat of the day or late evening, as this can reduce effectiveness due to evaporation and reduced plant activity.

Additionally, make sure the product is suitable for the type of grass and weeds in your yard, and always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the best results and to avoid damaging your lawn.

8889 ft coverage on the Turf Builder? What happened to round numbers? Remembering back in the day, 5K/15K ft TB, 50 (not 40) lbs granular lime … Shrinkflation at work.

Ultra Feed N-P-K is 40-0-5. Id be hesitant putting down that much Nitrogen in early summer given that our grass here in the Northeast tends to slow growing. I typically put down something organic like milorganite around that time.

Also, it's best to use a DROP spreader and do it during no wind conditions. Broadcast spreaders throw the fine powder weed killer too high into the air and it catches the wind and does not spread evenly. Dropping the weed powder directly onto the wet/damp weed leaf is the most effective way to use weed and feed fertilizers. And then it must not be washed off for at LEAST two days for best weed killing. Three to four days without rain or sprinkler is the BEST. So weed&feed types are difficult to get the best weed killing performance without perfect conditions for 2-4 for days.

See a lot of "never buy this" comments on this thread. Bought a house for the first time 2 years ago and went down the r/lawncare rabbit hole. The advice I have from my experience is that unless you have a ton of time/money to experiment on your yard like it's a dainty little princess trying to avoid gluten and lactose, you should ignore the snobs and just throw down the easy stuff sold at the big box stores. It's way easier, more convenient, and if used properly will get you 75% of the way there. I'll trade perfection for not having to make lawncare my 2nd job. Your neighbors are just going to let their lawns infect yours with their unkempt weed seedlings anyways. Don't chase the dragon unless you have nothing better to do with your time.

Triple action is just fine and has Tenacity in it, which is the same stuff they'll have you mixing up with blue dye in a backpack sprayer. The granules do the job if you put them on damp grass and you won't be making a mess mixing chemicals and dye in your garage like you're running a laboratory.

This has worked for me for the past 5 yrs. Hardly any weed and my grass is green after. Go figure.

Can you prove instructions on how you did it with your lawn? My grass is yellow and green and missing spots in some areas

How do these compare to the Scott Max deals currently at Costco?

https://www.costco.com/scotts-max...ue&nf=true

per lb this actually looks to be cheaper.

Is it still a deal if I get the 3-in-1 for 12,000 sqft instead of 4000?
