Agreed. Best strategy to apply this is to do it early morning when the grass is covered in dew. This will save you from having to manually water the lawn.
I'm not the biggest fan of Weed N Feeds or 3-in-1 lawn products. But if you are going to use this, make sure your lawn is wet/damp before applying. Otherwise it will do nothing for the weeds.
The best time to apply fertilizer that includes weed-killing properties, commonly referred to as "weed and feed," depends on the type of weeds and the climate of your area. For the most effective results, you should target weeds during their active growth periods.

For cool-season weeds, which include types like dandelion and chickweed, the ideal time for treatment is in the fall, when these weeds are actively growing and preparing for winter. For warm-season weeds, like crabgrass and nutsedge, the best time to apply weed and feed is during the spring or early summer, when these weeds start their growth cycle.

The timing of application is also important throughout the day. It's recommended to apply weed and feed early in the morning when there is still dew, as this helps the granules stick to the weed leaves, or after watering your lawn. However, avoid application during the heat of the day or late evening, as this can reduce effectiveness due to evaporation and reduced plant activity.

Additionally, make sure the product is suitable for the type of grass and weeds in your yard, and always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the best results and to avoid damaging your lawn.

Nice. Sounds like we can apply the weed and feed now then in 8 weeks apply the Ultrafeed (which lasts 6 months) and be done with fertilizer for the year

Don't use combination products. Weed and feed is notoriously difficult to apply and get right. You will feel like you wasted your money. Use a product for each job. Fertilizer to fertilize and weed killer to kill weeds.

Never buy this stuff. Separate weed and feed. Get some product with dithiopyr for pre-emergent to knock out weeds that are dormant, some post emergent for weeds that are already up (research this for your type of grass), and get a legit soil test from your state / near by universities (Google it) to find out your fertilizer needs. Most of the time you can buy it online, send them a sample, and they will have it ready quickly.

While you wait for the soil test, get some quick release nitrogen as your grass grows then top off with the fertilizer that you need from the soil test.

This has worked for me for the past 5 yrs. Hardly any weed and my grass is green after. Go figure.

To be honest I have been doing my own lawn from a long time and I learned from the best of the best, my Father. This stuff is over rated and over priced, also shrinkflation has taken 3k sq ft out of the bag and price has increased. These synthetic feeds nowadays are just pure garbage. Their compensation is smaller granules which I highly recommend using a mask of some sort if you're really going to get this.

My Dad, and now I, swear by Organic feeds like Milorgrante 6-4-0. This applied a few days to a week after using Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer will work better wonders than this garbage ever will. For $5-10 more you can get a much better and lasting product.

So this kills the weeds and also helps the grass grow nice and green?
