Never used them for hosting anything, can't imagine why a hosting company would be responsible for backups.

I haven't shopped around lately, but have been satisfied with namecheap's pricing, features, and the limited times i've contacted support. I have a very simple account with them- 3 domains and no other services. The promo code would have only saved me about $7/year so no big whoop.
Thanks for posting.
If not, the best I can suggest is figure out how much traffic you're generating and calculate whether self-hosting is viable.
Sorry it's actually around $150 with tax and fees. Is that cheap? There is very very little traffic for a non-profit. If it is then forget it….thx

For those interested, I've found Namecheap to be reliable. Despite some initial challenges setting up email and website certification, their support team provided prompt and comprehensive assistance. However, their email service has been less than satisfactory, with issues such as inconsistent delivery to my desktop and attachment failures.
Additionally, I've observed a slight yearly increase in the cost of my domain name, though it's been manageable. Despite these drawbacks, Namecheap is a solid choice for setting up a straightforward site. Their documentation is extensive and user-friendly, offering valuable guidance through various processes.
Overall, while Namecheap may be marketed as a budget option, it remains dependable for most needs, aside from email services.
Will be adding a new wildcard SSL cert with this coupon this week.
As convenient as it sounds, you immediately get labeled a sucker.
It's like any other bundled services, whether it be telecom or insurance, where wolves in the same den have a better chance at finding sheep.
Beyond that, though: Why no on-site backups? How were you managing versioning?
It's very much like having multiple phone books loosely connected.
Just because you're marked private in one, doesn't mean it always transcribes accurately.
Not saying it should be this way, but there's been no effort to change it in roughly 40 years.
