I've found that I can add groceries to my cart and split the cart between shipping/pick up as long as the final cart total between the two of them are over $35. So I will pick up milk, eggs, beverages, etc for one section of my order while that'll allow Walmart.com to ship a low-priced item as well since my overall total is over $35.
Alternatively, there are a few other options. I've noticed over the past week or so, Walmart has been having a clearance on many assorted products. Try searching for deals from our members to see if there is anything else you may like from Walmart to add to your cart and if enough items are added, your cart may reach over $35 for free shipping without needing Walmart+.
Finally, while not ideal, if a deal is good enough, you can simply just pay the shipping costs even if your cart total is under $35.

I do have a W+ membership and appreciate the deals I've seen posted lately. If it's not for you then just pass on, like I do for deals at sams/costco since I don't have memberships there.
For those putting down this deal because you have to order $35+ for free shipping with WalMart if you do not have WalMart+, give WalMart+ a try next time they have a free trial run. I receive enough WalMart cash on my purchases, and gasoline discounts at WalMart, to more than pay for my card. I use my phone to scan my items in the store & if WalMart has a cash back offer, I click it & receive Wal Mart cash to use the next time I shop with them. I can do the same if I order items for delivery.
