We have used both brands in the past. We regularly had trouble with the CYNC bulbs, both through Google Home (app and speakers) and directly through the CYNC app.

We've had almost no issues with the Kasa bulbs, and we switched out our CYNC bulbs for them. In my experience, they're worth the price increase if you regularly use them with something like Google Home.

These are WI-FI Smart bulbs. It's nice to get the type of communication technology in the description since some people use smart home hubs (zigbee and/or z-wave) and some people don't (use Wi-Fi smartness).

I read the description of both and they both say they work with wifi. However, does anyone know if they require 2.4 mhz or will they work with 5 mhz? I bought lights that require 2.4 and my router is set for 5 mhz for everything else. I know you can go in and set up another SSID, but I'd rather just leave it as is. Thanks

I have not checked these specific items but usually the home smart devices only support 2.4MHz (due to longer range as compared to high bandwidth but shorter range of 5 Mhz).

They don't have a microphone. They are controlled through your phone mic or other devices like Google mini speakers that do have a mic

Installed a couple Cync devices in my house as well as in my mother's house. Both locations were working fine with Google voice commands, but for the last couple weeks are having issues with Google voice commands and Google Home app control. I can control using the Cync app in both locations, but neither location works with Google now.

I've tried removing the devices from the Googleverse, unlinking Cync support in Google, then relinking Cync to Google. Adding the devices to Google works fine, but once set up in Google, Cync devices show as "offline", but continue to work fine in Cync app. Frustrating since everything was working fine for several weeks prior.

I have 7 cync wafer lights in my house, one cync switch, and one cync remote. Four lights are connected to the cync light switch so they can be controlled independently without toggling the light switch, two lights are connected to a kasa light switch and also the cync remote, and one is connected to a "dumb" switch. All of them work very well, so I wouldn't hesitate on the cync bulbs, though I haven't purchased this style before.

The ones connected to the kasa switch and dumb switch are quick to reconnect to wifi when you turn on the light switch so they can be controlled via app/voice not long after being powered on. They remember their last setting when powered on so I don't really have to change the settings often after being powered on, and they have some pretty fun light show settings you can do via the app.

I've had nothing but trouble with the Cync bulbs. I'll never buy them again.
