Full Disclosure:
This is a complicated deal that most readers will not qualify for. I am also posting with an ulterior motive. I am considering it. Might be a great deal, but if it's not, the SD community can be relied on to tell me exactly how it's screwed up and point me to a better deal.

Q&A is in the community wiki for this deal. Feel free to add and/or answer questions there.

They have a similar deal on:
Restrictions:
  • Must be a Spectrum Internet customer. If you are not in an area where you can get Spectrum Internet, you can't get this deal.
  • I have not included the cost of Spectrum High Speed Internet in the price of the deal, as their rates are the lowest in my area, and I'm assuming are competitive elsewhere.
  • I have included 60 days of Spectrum Mobile Service in the price of the deal, because your mobile service is likely less expensive and/or you are in a contract you can't leave.
  • I have included their Get $100 extra off a trade-in deal in the price of the deal. I assume you trade an old, junk phone. If you don't have one that qualifies, ask a friend to give you one.
  • Phone is locked to Spectrum mobile service for 60 days. They will unlock for free after that provided the phone is fully paid off.
Deal Instructions:
  • Purchase the phone in a single payment of $549.99
  • Select trade-in option. Their claim of $100 extra on trade is overstated on newer phones. Two examples (one good, one bad)
    • My wife's 4-year old mid-range phone (Moto G Power 2020) gets a $105 trade in. I'm taking that - great deal!
    • My Pixel 5a gets $70 trade-in from most vendors, but only gets $140. That's good, but not $100 extra. I'll probably sell it on Swappa for $100-120.
    • The phone must have a $1 or more trade in value, so if it's really, really old and/or broken, it may not qualify. Broken phones can qualify if they have trade value.
    • A trade is not required, but if you can get $100+ for a junk phone and don't take it, you're just being an idiot.
  • Buy their least expensive phone plan $19.99/mo for 1GB data. Not a great deal here, but you only need to keep it for 60 days/$40. I counted this in the $499.99 price in the title.
  • Their optional $5/month warranty is a very good deal if you want a warranty. The Google store charges $12/mo for a warranty on the P8Pro, and most third party vendors charge $7-$9.
  • You must keep Spectrum Internet and the Spectrum mobile plan for 60 days.
  • Wait 60 days. Set a calendar reminder.
  • Unlock for free and switch to the vendor of your choice. I'm going with this other slick deal.
  • Cancel unwanted services.
The following statements are true, to the best of my knowledge from information collected from Google service and Pixel discord. It may not be 100% accurate. If it is not, discuss in comments:
  • It will be usable on AT&T or T-Mobile networks after being unlocked.
  • The hardware is identical to to factory-unlocked Pixel 8 Pro. The only differences are in software.
If you have questions, I will be going to the Spectrum store later today to ask questions. I would be happy to bring yours along. Put your questions in the post Wiki and I will edit with answers.

I got the Pixel deal from Spectrum last month and I just want to say it wasn't a "Verizon Pixel" but a "Google Fi Pixel".

If you go through https://store.google.com/repair?hl=en-US and input the IMEI it should tell you which version you have.

Just in case anyone is interested and wants to access to OEM unlocking in the developer mode after 60 days.

That is better! I would much rather have a Google Fi pixel! Thank you and fixing post.

Yup yup. I would assume they're all the same version since it would be weird to get a mix, but I needed to make sure as well since I planned on switching to GrapheneOS next month. I had to look up all this info too.

Here was the thread on XDA I saw that helped me out(It's not really a guide to unlock anything other than saying to wait 60 days).

Mine also shows as Fi (bought back in November), but FYI if/when flashing the stock image it needs to be the Verizon variant.

My guess is that it's a Fi model to be able to OEM unlock (Verizon models can't) but Verizon image since Spectrum uses Verizon's network.

Went to Spectrum store. The folks there were not very knowledgeable and couldn't answer questions about bootloaders or different pixel types.

What I did get:
  • You can only keep the $5/mo warranty as long as you are on Spectrum Mobile service. This makes it not such a great deal. I will pay with my American Express to get a second year of warranty, then go to a third party provider like Allstate or AKKO.
  • They thought it was a Verizon pixel, but were not confident - they were just guessing.
  • The $19.99/mo 1GB plan is their least expensive mobile plan. They also have a special for two lines unlimited for $25/mo, which would be a better deal if I actually wanted the service.
  • It has the standard 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Decided to wait and see if price goes down. If not, I will jump on May 24 because my prepaid Mint Mobile plan will be ending. I don't want to have to pay for two plans when I'm only using one.

Spectrum website says this deal is good until June 30.

Probably better to wait for a deal on Pixel 8a which is coming out next month. Pixel 8 and 8 Pro isn't coming back down I think.

Spectrum will probably offer more trade in deals once 8a goes up.

The 8a is no good for me. My old eyes need a bigger screen. My plan B is a Samsung a35.

Understandable. Just saying that promotions for the regular 8 and Pro is most likely not going to happen anymore. All the good ones already passed by now so the only one to really look forward to is 8a from Spectrum.

That's usually how Spectrum trade in works. They offer the best deal during preorder or launch.

First time looking at these deals or considering locked phones for me. That's counter-inituitive - I expect prices to go down over time, and was intentionally waiting.

But, if that holds true, it leaves me with options.
  • The Samsung S24FE and A35 should both release soon. Either would work for me, maybe a deal on one. Also strange that Spectrum isn't selling the S24+.
  • I could try to hold out for a Pixel 9 Pro in October. But, my phone loses security updates in August, so I might have to really think about trying that.
Or, I could just take the P8Pro. $500 isn't exactly a bad deal for one. Just craws me that it was $200 less a few weeks ago.

Honestly, if you can keep holding on to your current phone and don't need to switch right away, I would wait. $500 for P8P isn't a bad deal per say (since everywhere else is still selling higher than that), but as far as Spectrum deal goes, it's not that great.

Spectrum offers amazing trade in deals when they do have their promotions. They were selling the S24 for $100 and S24+ for $300 with trade in of any phone last couple months.
