I have a few different sizes of dewalt, they are comfortable. I'm a DIY guy not a contractor and a bit messy with mud, these clean up better than rubber handle ones. Never had it slip either.

The DeWALT Putty Knife might not hold up well under heavy use. Had some issues with similar products from them before.

As long as you aren't leaving joint compound on it, they all hold up fine — even the cheapies.

Though, I don't know why anyone would get one without a rubber coated comfort grip these days. Those make a huge difference.

Im a dewalt fan boi so i have everything dewalt. But i agree, 5" knife is a joint knife or maybe even tile knife and if you have a trace of mud on your hand this thing will slip out like a banana. If it lands corner first, floor is farked or knife is farked.

In for 2. Thanks o.p. If I decide I dont need a back up I can return on and still get the first at 13% off this price. Ordered the 3" when it was on sale. As a former painter these are great for quick first coats for nail holes and smaller holes where you want the least amount of sanding after as possible.

These knives are amazing for the price especially for food. The downside is if you prefer a very flexible knife to tape with these are quite stiff. Some people also prefer rubber handles. I do not.
