I have this exact model and it's not all it's cracked up to be. The wifi 7 has really short range and interference seems like a side-grade rather than an upgrade vs mature wifi 6E. Very few devices also support wifi 7 now
First generation of routers embracing a new tech are rarely good buys... Just be patient.
Have had this for a couple weeks. The software sucks. I like that it has 2.5g on all ports. The model above this is what I really wanted but it's $600 for basically two more antennas and a couple 10g ports (including one sfp+). WiFi range blows. Can't sort connected devices by IP. The IoT dedicated network isn't recognized by ANY of my iot devices as it's not a dedicated 2.4ghz radio even though it claims to be.

Whats up with all the comments on Wifi 7 Range being bad??? Wifi 7 operates on the same 2.4ghz band along with 5ghz and 6ghz just like Wifi 6. If anything Wifi 5 also known as AC, works only on 5ghz band and its range is debatable.

Wifi 7 has the same range as Wifi 6 on all 3 bands. And Wifi 6e is only on the 6ghz band, its basically an extension of wifi 6.

Wifi 7 will shine when you update your phone and laptop maybe 2 years down the road as the lowest band, ie the 2.4 will be even faster and robust.

If you are in need of a router today and dont mind shelling out extra cash to be future proof for next 6 years or so. Then go with this router. It could have some bugs initially but they will get ironed out soon.

The moment you disable the 2.4ghz channel WiFi 6 and make it AC only. Suddenly all those old devices will have no problem connecting to the router.
That's right! Because all those old devices cannot connect to the newer WiFi 6 at all!

We know that they also will have a lot of hardware bugs and multiple HW revisions, which obviously cannot be ironed out any time soon (or at all).

I confirmed the Walmart version has 4*2.5 Gbps ports vs 1*2.5Gbps and 3*1Gbps ports as stated on box and listing. Amazon states the same, but I'd think they're all 2.5Gbps as others have mentioned, and matching the Walmart one. I had read that online and confirmed it when I picked one up today from my local Walmart and tested it.

A big No. The range listed over here does not talk about the band being used. They are giving 6ghz range for Wifi 6 and 7. 5ghz range for wifi 5 and 2.4ghz band for wifi 4. So yes. The range for wifi 7 is same like older versions.

Im confused. Are you saying im wrong or I should not explain something?

This paper tells that the true benefits of wifi 7 comes when devices are very close to the router. Nothing that wifi 7 has a poor range.

How is this related to the paper you shared or my points?

But No. I do not have a wifi 7 client nor a router. But, you do realize that the true bottleneck of any network is most commonly the client. Every Wifi 7 client will work differently, ex, a phone's wifi 6 performance is significantly lower than my laptops.
