I just got back from the Verizon store, they won't let me pay off the device until may 2nd.

Guess I'm gonna have to wait to receive the phone Sunday to register the account and add a payment method. SMH

is there any way to find the phone number for the new Verizon account if you didn't screenshot it during the purchase? I didn't screenshot the phone number because I thought I would see it again later but now I need that number to cancel my Verizon service.

More like $99 + sales tax +$35 + a few prorated days of whatever plan you choose + Verizon and regulatory taxes. I'd say probably around around $155-$160

I went to a corporate store today and they initially wouldn't let me, then said I had to have exact change...after breaking a $20 I was able to give them $99 cash to pay it off. Once I got home I chatted with Verizon and was able to get the service entirely canceled so I shouldn't have to pay the activation fee.

When you went to the corporate store, did you already have the device in hand and activated the service (when and how)? Also, did you already sign up for an online Verizon account (and did the account showed that the device cannot be paid off until a certain date 5/xx/2024 like in some previous posts)?

This is the message I'm seeing online

"Until 05/02/2024, device payment is only available through cash payment at a Verizon Store. After that date, you'll be able to pay off your device online."

So looks like you need to go in store to pay it off.

What is also weird is I don't see the other device I bought as a payoff........

How did you set up the online Verizon account? Were you already a Verizon user or are you new and just set up the account?

Ah ok. I'm new to Verizon and trying to figure out how to set up an account while waiting for Walmart to deliver the phone. When did you activate the service (was it before or after you received the phone)? Previous posts said to pay it off and cancel service within 3 days from activation. But, the "activation" date is different from the "purchase" date, correct? I hope so because it takes a while to even receive the phone! I wonder if the date of "05/02/2024" that you're seeing is related to the activation date...

Lucky you. I went to a corporate store today and was rudely told by several sales floor people that I couldn't do it and would have to wait 30 days. They didn't even bother to look up my account on their computer system. I then went to an authorized Verizon dealer in the next town on my way homeand they were way nicer, but when they looked up my account to do the cash payment to remove my payment agreement, they were unable to do so since it said I had to wait until May 2nd. At that point it wasn't worth my time and I went home.
