Put the same exact thing in a Beverly Hills furniture showroom, surrounded by other beautiful decorations, and a fake price tag of $5000+ and people will t think it's "elegant" instead of "uncomfortable". Or perhaps, uncomfortably elegant or elegantly uncomfortable.
There are over 800 reviews on this and they look fairly legit. 1 in 6 reviews are 1 star which is not great. From the 1 stars people compaining of missing parts or damaged product. About 2/3 of reviews are 4-5 stars so genearlly positive if people didn't get a unit with flaws out of the box.

I bought from Walmart very similar futon. Do not buy it for sleeping purposes. Not for guests and not for children. So uncomfortable.
Yep. Agree. Have this and it's certainly not comfortable for sleeping
Arms bolt at bottom only and are inevitably going to break with a bit of pressure. It's held up in our short term rental for 10 stays, but we did replace it as it's not great.

I don't get it. I'll admit it doesn't look like the plushest or most cozy thing but why would you think it's uncomfortable?
Did you mean as a bed? I could see how it might not perform well as a bed...
They're right lol. Got the navy blue-looking gray one as a super interim solution for my Mancave when I moved into my new home last May and it's gotten super uncomfortable over time to the point you can start feeling part of the metal under the cushion in the middle area. The first time I had someone stay over, they had to move to the living room couch b/c of how uncomfortable it was (this was before I had people use thick bed topper thingy on top of it in bed form to make it sleep able). Granted, I paid about $100 total instead of $150 after getting a $50 partial refund because the back rests would not line up (since they're split in two) without a hail Mary effort. Even at $100, I would not recommend unless you're desperate.
I bought the same thing from Amazon and didn't assemble it for six months. Then I broke one supporting leg during assembly. Called the customer service and they sent the replacement within a week. It doesn't feel sturdy at all. It is kinda okay for the price but don't think they are worth at the original price.
I have this from a previous deal in the blue color. It was easy to assemble and is sitting in my office. I haven't had to use it as a bed for any guests yet, but have made use of it to take a break, watch some tv and what not. It's comfortable enough, and has so far held up very well.
I wouldn't treat this as a primary sofa but for its usage it's pretty good.
The cons are:
- It's best where the back can rest against a wall, the clips to hold up the backrest are quite weak. I haven't had a problem with mine yet but imagine the support of the wall behind has been greatly beneficial.
- it's sits quite low.

My gf complains everytime… would not recommend the couch if you're looking for comfort.
It'll do temporarily but def look at another if you actually like sitting for extended time such as for movies
