It's LPDDR5, so it's all soldered down.
Has anybody actually bought one of laptops, taken the back off and determined it there is an open RAM slot. I contacted Acer support and was told yes but I don't think the rep was the most educaterd person in the world.

The Aspire A515-58M memory can't be upgraded, this laptop has On Board Memory of either 8GB / 16GB or 32GB at DDR5-4800 MT/S which is soldered on memory and has no removable memory slots for memory to be upgradeable.

This laptop is a a515-58pt-59vw and not a515-58M we are not sure if the memory is upgradable.

If you do not agree that transparency in price is important to you, and especially form staff postings, you are not a very slick dealer. Your bar is too low.

It's your business to decide how much info you find acceptable. But if you honestly think it's fine to be fooled when you click on deals with the price in the title only to find out you have to add shipping to that which is baked into the price, especially if it is flat rate, your expectations for knowing the price before clicking in are too low. I can keep explaining this to you but I cannot change your mind. You do you and stay semi-slick if you insist. vomit
It may be available for a lower price in stores, but that is not the post title or the main idea of the post. Typically it would not cost the shipping and that would be the lower price, but you never know until you call or stop in. It had nothing to do with my complaint.
You are kidding/trolling?

I bought one, took off the back, no DIMM socket, returned it.

Unless there is a DIMM socket on the underside of the motherboard then the memory is not upgradable.

Terrible design decisions to save a few bucks

Bought one - will check it tonight after work. Didn't realize this doesn't have any USB-C so may go back regardless.

After asking the guy at Costco, getting this and calling Acer and wading through the system to talk to a human and giving them every number on the box they said yes, you can expand the Ram to 32 GB. WRONG. I took it apart and there is NO slot for expansion, only the soldered in 8gb.

I have 8 right now and it is not enough. And this unit actually in all other respects is a decent computer for the regular non-gamer person to do their daily stuff but 8 is not enough any longer in the world.

Cannot expand RAM. I know I opened mine up yesterday and nope, nada, no slot for expandion. Otherwise, this isn't a bad deal considering specs etc., for the home user NOT wanting to do anything more than browse the web use OFFICE, a little photo editing etc. I've got 8GB now in an HP and it isn't cutting the mustard anymore.

Not a single USB-C port. That's a no-no for 2024

The listing under specification [costco.com] says "Number of USB-C Ports
2 Ports (1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1)". Is this not accurate?

I don't see it in the pictures when I zoom in to see the ports.

I am not a slick dealer if I don't agree with you? That's not how it works.
It's not clickbait. It is available for purchase at some stores.
I just bought one in store in Rowland, California. No shipping
