In all seriousness the world has put more chemicals or we now understand more about the chemicals in our products we use/eat. Who knows how much of it kills us and how much our body cleans up. There's not enough data for every single peice of research but I do find it all interesting as a health nut personally. Depending on one person's health and genetics it will affect each person different. It's like some smokers smoker til age 90 and die...others die young from smoking.
According to the same Wikipedia entry, it was also reported to cause vampire blood to explode, so don't buy it if you are a vampire.
