Because SD is now just abt anything that has a discount, regardless of whether it's off an inflated MSRP or the average, everyday sale price. "Slick" left the building a long time ago. "Deals" is actively looking for a new hangout.

I'll be that guy and complain about the 57-58% sodium.

Isn't this just regular price? How come is it a frontpage deal?

Not to mention the other ingredients.

Throw those seasoning packets away and make a simple sauce with soy, peanut butter, rice vinegar, and maple syrup. Add your choice of veggies and you've got a quick meal

Exactly, or in a hurry (or away from home) just use half the packet, and don't drink the broth. Sodium instantly reduced by 80%.

Thanks for point this out and summing it up so nicely. SD moved towards algorithmic curation long ago, SD got too big and cant escape the enshittification.

It's true it's a small discount on a cheap item, but everyone likes ramen, and it was previously a front page deal at $6. Deals are still lovingly curated by deal junkie staff members, but during this recent period of rising prices I think we all feel the shortage of exciting deals to keep us so busy checking the forum that we only have time to cook ramen. When the deal cycle becomes more slick we'll be ready.

This perspective is valid. It's tricky to balance die-hard community and for-profit business, and often great discounts do not last long enough for FP.

No hard feelings, in-for-1. Thank you for finding these deals.

Had the shrimp version today. Awful.
Bland, loaded with some herb that overpowered it.
Crappy noodle texture.
Basically no shrimp or chili or lime flavor. I ended up dumpling the broth, eating the shrimp I added and half the noodles.
Poor quality paper cup bled through.
Cheapo maruchan shrimp cup is much better.
