Realistically this is the same quality bike as the GT Agressor Pro that was available at Dick's for $299, and is currently $350. I suggest you buy that instead. Another option is the Costco Northrock (made by Giant) XC27/29 that goes in and out of stock for ~$300. That is also a similar quality bike that would be a better buy.
fwiw, I'm not pro light roadbikes either, just not a fan of the road bike fad, what with their 15lbs lean bikes and matching spandex uniforms (like a buncha daisies!) -- I personally ride a decade old Diamond Back Transport, it was $450 when I got it, 35lbs stock, 45lbs equipped with my stuff, and I ride it roughly 30-40 miles... Daily! Not for commute, but just for the sweaty work outs in the evening or early morn. I spend my money on accessories and upgrades, I'd like to think my bike is a sleeper touring machine. Its a HEAVY boy. & I like my heavy boy. That said, If I were to get this Suspension Diamondback from Costco... at my mileage.... I'd have to get the suspension full serviced every 2 months (200hrs/3hr per day), that's $200+ every 2 months! -- Simplicity is best. Avoid suspensions. Spend on good tires.
Def cannot recommend this deal from my perspective.
