Well this is super vague. The only concrete thing I see is if you make a Scan and Go purchase today you get a free future curbside order or same day delivery if you're a plus member.

Waste of time, I think they had less samples at mine today than normal. Just the coffee sample today. I did get the credit card with 50 dollar credit since I shop there anyways but that's til the end of the month so doesn't have to be a today.
They were more crowded than usual.

Normally something is called "free" if it's at no additional charge - like "buy one get one free".
Shipping is "free" with Amazon Prime and W+ despite the fact that they are membership services. This event is free for members, because they would have already paid for the membership,whether or not they attend,
