$320 total after fees/taxes to CA.
Coupon saved around $40

EDIT : $326 after fees - they make you finance the cost via zip payment which costs $6. There is no option to pay all at once to avoid the extraneous fee. And you have to go through the hoops of creating the zip account.. some folks will probably want to avoid the extra hassle and fees.

it is possible. It's not easy though. Involves disabling WP (write protect) - by removing battery. Then going to ChromeOS Dev mode then running a firmware utility script (from MrChromebox.tech) to convert ChromeOS's default bios to UEFI -coreboot (so you can install Linux or Windows)

I have Windows 11 Pro on mine - somethings to note:
-Sound works (but drivers must be purchased from Coolstar.org $10)
-Thunderbolt 4 drivers works (also purchased through Coolstar.org $20)
-Touchpad (Numpad light up - but not functional as a Numpad) function goes away in Windows (there's no Windows drivers for the ASUS Chromebook version of hardware version of the touchpad.) - but functions as a touchpad normally (not initially during windows install - need mouse)
-Fingerprint not supported on Windows 11 (this is a known issue in the Chultrabook community) - doesn't look like it's going to be resolved anytime soon either.

Other than that -- the price point for Chromebook with a swappable SSD (I installed 2TB Samsung Nvme on mine) + paired with 16GB of ram and decent/recent low powered processor --is good deal.
As others pointed out -- lowering the screen brightness will improve battery life.

Title says 512GB SSD, Specs says 256GB SSD. Which is correct?

And link shows 8GB, not 16GB.

How's the battery life? That's the main thing holding me back right now.

With the brightness right at halfway up, I usually get around 4-5 hours streaming on it. Plenty bright and sharp at that level for me.

From what I'm understand that's a negative.. but you can run Linux on barebones or windows full screen as a VM.. with the ram and low requirements you should be able to run windows when needed without an issue.. I'm thinking about it because 95 percent of everything I do is email or in a browser.. office on web works great for personal use

Not easily, and possibly not on this model. Check chrultrabook on Reddit
