Looks like once you go from 9 to 11 internal amps, price jumps on avrs double
Several 9 channel amps offering 11 channel processing can be had under a grand. 11 channel amps with 13 channel processing jumps to 2 grand and I am talking sale prices

Must be the scales of economies at work

I see the same. I'm not buying this one. I just posted it because I've been looking at receiver prices a lot, and this was the lowest I've seen for RZ70. I've been eyeing a refurb Denon x6700h. This just seems too much for an AVR. I wish I could pick and choose features. Just one example, but I will never buy a record player. The high end receivers feel like the have to include everything

Out of curiosity, other than the extra 15 watts & 13 channels processing why the 6700 and not 4700?

I originally had purchased the RZ50, but it struggled driving my 4 ohm Martin Logan speakers. I switched to the RZ70 and have been very pleased. It has no problems driving them.

I have Klipsch Reference Premieres and the RZ-50 powers all 9 channels easily with room to spare. I know they're no Martin Logans but I love bright, efficient speakers, lots of headroom to spare powered by the one receiver.

I currently have a 5.1.2 system. The room is setup perfectly to extend to 7.1.4 as there is a drop ceiling and a good space for rears. So, I'm looking for 11 channels and so far don't want to deal with separate amplification. The LCR are KEF 350/650, and I'm underwhelmed with them driven by a denon x1600h. High channel count and limiting myself to all in one pushes me to the higher end of AVR

Makes sense.
Unfortunately 11 internal amps is going to cost you!

If you're trying to keep cost down you might want to reconsider external amps.

The Pioneer 505 has gotten down to $649 and if you were after Dirac Live it's included!
Add an external amp and you have 11 channels.

Another plus, those fronts will get more efficient power.
