Not a gaming laptop and don't buy it main puropse is gaming. This is more of a everyday productivity / Multimedia laptop with decent graphics card. RTX 2050 is just a stripped down version of RTX 3050 4GB and offers around 15% slower performance,

This seems like an excellent deal. My nephew plays most of the modern games and I've been looking for him a lower price gaming laptop. How is that graphics card? Or anything else the buyer should be aware of?

It's a shame the graphics adapter is a couple of generations older and notably slower, otherwise this would be an excellent choice for a new laptop. How does this RTX 2050 compare to the current Intel Iris Xe graphics?

It is just one generation older and a lot more powerful than Iris Xe.

When you say it's not a gaming PC - why would you even bother with a dedicated graphics card if not for playing some games? I realize the graphics card is older, but if it's "a lot more powerful than iris", is only 15% slower than a current card really that big of a deal? If you're not on the bleeding edge of gaming (say, working through a backlog of 5-10+yr old games), wouldn't this be a perfectly fine gaming rig?
or more to the point, if someone were gaming on a budget, is there a better deal out there you'd recommend for under $700 (possibly under $600 with the Amex deal)? Seems like the 1TB would be useful for storing games, and a lot of things labeled "gaming" at or under this price only have 8GB of ram.
