We use these mostly without the flavor pack. Cook as directed. Add a slick of American cheese and a splash of milk for kiddo "stringy mac and cheese". Usually add some frozen veggies halfway through the noodle cook.
I like that idea! When ramen used to be priced like pasta, it was a really easy meal for one. Just add your favorite ingredients, like pasta.
For a time, I got a deal on buckwheat pasta and I made it like a Japanese dish with sesame oil and other flavors. The sesame oil changed a bland wad of sticky pasta into an interesting plate. The key is to be creative with the ingredients.
They eventually digest or at least exit, but all those chemicals and preservatives can't be good. I was buying them by the case, that and TP like everyone else when we thought the world was going to end. I still have a few cases in the basement. Eventually they'll go rancid, but if the S hits the fan, they'll be on the menu, good zombie apocalypse food. When you're young it doesn't matter as much as your body handles just about anything, but as a seasoned citizen, I try not to eat them very often. Many people will talk about the billions of people that eat them every day. That may be true, and some people have no choice, but there are much better food choices than this.
Bought a 48-pack from the local Costco for about $13.xx I think.
It was 24 "beef" and 24 "chicken".
I throw in frozen vegetables, and sometimes even leftover chicken pieces.
I didn't know that it might be unhealthy. I don't eat other processed foods so once a week can't be too terrible.
Many students, and many people in Asian countries, eat this stuff almost daily. Probably much worse if people have loads of other processed foods in their diet.
I still like it occasionally. It's fast and very tasty. Comfort food that can be spiked with vegetables to be healthier. Great when it's cold outside.

Inflation, shimflation. I'm not sure how they have managed to keep this so cheap.
These are 20% higher than in 2021. Inflation is real, and the secret is they're using the cheapest ingredients on the planet. Flour, palm oil, and salt.
Check your local Vons/Pavillions ads. For my area (San Diego), Friday's for the past three or four weeks, there is Maruchan noodles for $0.20 each, no limit, any flavor.

I would agree with that normally, but if you look at the nutrition info and ingredients, he has a point, except it is digestible. Digestible, but not health food.
It's high in calories (380 per pack), it's ultra-processed, high in sodium and saturated fat. Sure, you can throw away the flavor packet, but then it's just cheap noodles. Just look at the ingredients, a lot of chemicals, allergen warnings, and GMO's to boot.
