It's almost like investing in artwork at this point… they retain their value and can be resold for close to what you spent on initial purchase, if not more as years go by. Gibson as a brand is iconic and will always fetch a higher price point, but by the same metric they will also retain their value in a way that a Gucci wallet will not, or buying a used luxury car will not. So it's not really a fair comparison.
Anyway, i got it for ~$100 less than this, actually, since there's a 20% off storewide code...
I do wonder if the mkt's so bad that I would've been able to find a proper LP for less had I kept looking, but this does look about as low as they go, and I can return for $10 if it's not up to snuff..
damn this site. i'd switched to cheap Chinese copies for so long and in the last two weeks i bought this and an American Pro II Tele, telling myself they'll never be this cheap again.
But Epiphone's are selling for close enough to $1750, i like satin far more than gloss, and the only traditional color burst I still lack is a cherry one..
but i don't need another guitar. oh well, now that i think about it, i don't know if anyone would've been able to buy it and return it, and them get it relisted in what, 5d? Seems a bit tight, no?
apologies re the wall of text, this thread's dead
