Of note, you need a hex key to install, they do not have the detents for a pedal wrench.
I believe Ultegra pedals are still made in Japan, correct? Did you actually order pedals off of eBay? Do they say Made in Japan? As an aside, the genuine Shimano cleats are selling for about $30, now. So, $109 for Ultegra pedals is like paying only $79 for both pedals, or less than $40 per pedal. That's a great price from a reputable seller.
