Google AI says: "Yes, lenders can consider immigration status when underwriting loans, and visa holders may be considered more risky than citizens. This is because immigration status can correlate with national origin, which is protected under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA). Lenders can consider immigration status to assess their rights or remedies to recover funds, or if otherwise required to comply with other laws. For example, if a visa expires and the borrower must leave the country, the lender would be unable to recover the balance due on a loan."

I chose to do a 1 pay lease and just pay everything at signing. I also had offers for roughly the same total price with $0 down $254 per month, $1k down $207 per month, and $2k down $161 per month. Admittedly those are slightly better than the $6k upfront but they didn't come with the extra $2k in options which I chose to use on lease end protection and tire/wheel protection

Interesting article about how there are now 1:15 EV fast-charging stations to gas stations in the US:

in what world is 1 fast charger for every 15 gas stations enough. get real

Insurance is higher on EVs because there are fewer spare parts available, which leads to longer repair times, which end up costing insurance companies because of the longer vehicle rentals for the driver not at fault.
I just mentioned my insurance. There are other references. The insurance of just Tesla is extremely high. Others follow average.

Friend repaired BMW ICE engine recently. Some fluid was not available in US for 3 months. It's the same case for all cars

This is ridiculous. Electric is the future, there's no question about it, it's just a matter of when it catches on and when the cars and trucks conform with what consumers want
Plus, repairs. I think repairs are the biggest problems. One of my colleagues, Tesla (Model Y, Dual Motor), got into an accident and it took them almost 6 months to fix it. It was a collision, and no other cars were involved. Her insurance paid for the loaner for about 2 months amd after that, she had to Uber everyday to work. I believe the problem was non-availability of a sensor and it took them to get it almost after 6 months. (She crashed around min-September last year and got her back in early April)

Parts are available for all but the newest models. Real problem is they're designed pretty stupidly when it comes to minor collision repair. Why is a small fender bender with a rivian $30k? Why are windshields in many new models $3-5k? Thoughtless design and excessive complexity.

It's going to be more than your gas car. There are a lot more electronics inside, fewer spare parts available, longer repair times because of it. And longer rental times for a loaner/rental.
Not necessarily. I quoted an EV with USAA and it was about $10 more per month of a similarly priced and sized ICE vehicle.

Just test drone the ioniq 5 2024 awd... was underwhelming overall. Felt cheap. No wireless andriod auto, usb a ports but no usb c. In a straight line its fun to stomp on it, but it drives heavy on corners. Range in my rest drive wasnt great but that is hard to judge. Very nice looking outside but inside it felt like an appliance.

Ended up leasing a subaru solterra limited.. $1000 down $317 a month.. the limited trim has a ton of cool stuff. It has plenty of flaws as well but at least it was comfortable and fun to drive.

price is awesome but 24m lease is useless.
Why? That's ideal for EV, should be a lot more options in 2 years.

Is it just a 2 year lease or is there an option to own?

Yep, electric is really going downhill these days quickly. Will be surprised to see EVs last much longer. Even the charging networks are falling apart too.

Thank goodness many of us stuck with gas all this time.
again, nobody is forcing you psychopaths to stop driving gas cars

First one to say they liked Subaru EV over Hyundai! But seriously, Subaru?

Finally a helpful comment. The Hyundai electrics lack options and features. Subies have been full of standard tech and i would have never even know they had an EV
