Google AI says: "Yes, lenders can consider immigration status when underwriting loans, and visa holders may be considered more risky than citizens. This is because immigration status can correlate with national origin, which is protected under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA). Lenders can consider immigration status to assess their rights or remedies to recover funds, or if otherwise required to comply with other laws. For example, if a visa expires and the borrower must leave the country, the lender would be unable to recover the balance due on a loan."

I chose to do a 1 pay lease and just pay everything at signing. I also had offers for roughly the same total price with $0 down $254 per month, $1k down $207 per month, and $2k down $161 per month. Admittedly those are slightly better than the $6k upfront but they didn't come with the extra $2k in options which I chose to use on lease end protection and tire/wheel protection

Didn't want to go through 18 pages to check and probably should be under be a separate post, but I went to the Hyundai website and noticed the 2024 IONIQ 6 SE is $239/month for 24 months with $239 due at lease signing using a SoCal zip code. $349 for SEL.

leasing works better if you can do it with a business write off on your taxes.

a personal use lease is not a slickdeal way of paying for a car.

at the end, you have to pay residual fee, they check if you are within the allotted miles/yr you agreed to, and every dent, nick, scratch, curbed wheels will be charged to you, for reconditioning the vehicle for resale.

their goal, when you turn in, will be to turn you around, and re-lease, or re-buy another dealer sale.

i tend to drive my vehicles into the ground, so i never lease.

we currently have 4 EVs, and they are all 12+ years old.

saved so much money, time, hassles, never going back to ICE. never.

good luck
You have 4 tesla roadster. You must be loaded

First one to say they liked Subaru EV over Hyundai! But seriously, Subaru?
The Subaru is a Toyota and it's a cyclops. Good luck getting parts in a few years. Early leaf owners can't even gets parts now when under warranty ..

If electric works for your driving habits, it's leagues better than driving gas. (For me at least - I have an ev and gas car)

Biggest issues are
1 price - which is getting better especially post COVIDflation amd more used driving down price more.

2 political and business agendas of either stripe in the US constantly trying to sway opinion for their own purposes

3 overzealous ev proponents mandating everything and generating resentment by those they seek to mandate.

Biggest issue is political agenda people (ev people saying
This is the correct take. Insurance for a model y performance for me is about $700 for 6 months, up from $660 for my 2017 Sonata (not the cheapo easy-to-steal version). I expected it to be more for a car that's worth almost 4x as much and does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.
I also pay $0.07 per kwh 7pm - 11am, which means charging 280 miles overnight costs about $5.25, maybe around $6 for efficiency loss. I looked at the Ioniq 5 as well, made more sense to me to get the model y with the recent price cuts: 52000 - 7500 federal - 5000 state - 5000 in-stock discount. I got it for trade in value of a 2022 model y.

And before anyone chimes in, if the government wasn't subsidizing gas, it would be somewhere in the $10-$15 a gallon range. Then everyone would be driving electric, subsidy or not.

Was about to say the same thing. Their opinion on the Hyundai lost all credit with me when they chose literally the worst EV on the market.

Never drove this model but I just got a SolTerra and love it so far. And my insurance only went up 30 bucks for people talking about insurance.

Schomp is far better than Arapahoe - we leased an ioniq 5 SEL AWD late last month for 2 years 12K miles for $4500 one pay lease from Schomp.

Arapahoe likes to play more games, Schomp was no non sense and gave us best deal up front.
