Google AI says: "Yes, lenders can consider immigration status when underwriting loans, and visa holders may be considered more risky than citizens. This is because immigration status can correlate with national origin, which is protected under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA). Lenders can consider immigration status to assess their rights or remedies to recover funds, or if otherwise required to comply with other laws. For example, if a visa expires and the borrower must leave the country, the lender would be unable to recover the balance due on a loan."

I chose to do a 1 pay lease and just pay everything at signing. I also had offers for roughly the same total price with $0 down $254 per month, $1k down $207 per month, and $2k down $161 per month. Admittedly those are slightly better than the $6k upfront but they didn't come with the extra $2k in options which I chose to use on lease end protection and tire/wheel protection

Yep, electric is really going downhill these days quickly. Will be surprised to see EVs last much longer. Even the charging networks are falling apart too.

Thank goodness many of us stuck with gas all this time.
Might as well get back on that horse. You probably thought the internet was 'just a fad and going away soon' too lol.

Depends on your locality. Typically, taxes don't apply to leases since you're not actually buying the car.
Tell that to the asshole dealerships in AZ that also charge 500 doc fee

Is the $225 a month inclusive fees? $4,338 over 24 months is $180 a month. Trying to understand your $6k math. Can you break it down?
See the pic attached to the post for the exact breakdown of the $6k. I paid it all off at once so there is no monthly payment. $6k includes everything, taxes and fees

rentals are not free. you have to add that plan to your insurance and you pay a monthly premium for it. there is also a max cap of how many days they'll provide you with a rental.

he literally said the new EV is 2x the cost of his older ICE. the insurance preimum increase is pretty negligible so I would say the cost of the car is what affected his premium.
If you don't have rental coverage on your policy but you hit someone else's car... your insurance will cover that person's vehicle for how ever long it takes. They isn't necessarily a set time limit... depending on the state. Even though you don't have rental on your policy it's still baked into overall insurance. Insurance companies have noticed repairs are taking longer than in the past and have raised rates overall in order to cover the extra costs.

Is it just a 2 year lease or is there an option to own?
There is always (or at least almost always) an option to own at the end of the lease and they tell you what that price will be when you sign the lease. In my case it's $37,856. The only reason I would do that is if inflation goes crazy again and I could immediately sell it for more than that like what happened to some people during the COVID car shortage

facts! just buy used or buy new; either way..own the car
Theres very little difference between buying new and leasing, and in many scenarios leasing is better than buying new.

When leasing, you are paying the depreciation over that time period. You can then buy it if yo u want.

Leasing cars has got to be one of the stupidest things to ever do
Ignorant comment. Especially when posting in a damn $220 per month lease thread for a $50K MSRP car.

Your interest charge alone would be $300+ if financing this at current rates.

The sales tax alone (in taxable states) would be 60% of the TOTAL COST of this lease over the 24 months.

Any car transaction can be stupid if being done by a stupid person. This one, is not.

Not really. I own, but leasing is smart for people who don't drive much. The proposition here is basically ~$5,400 for two years with basically $0 in maintenance. If car prices skyrocket you can always buy it out, if car prices plummet you just walk away. Cars are a depreciating asset

The guy strikes me as an uninformed shill. Why is he so influential? No judgement, I'm genuinely curious.
I think he's a good story teller, knows how to connect to the audience, he's also an OG tech gadget reviewer and he's connected to many other reviewers and some of the biggest names out there.

I think most people feels the same after they tried the same gadgets o over time what he says becomes believable by default.

He doesn't always shill, he said stuff like keep the M1Max and skip M2 and M3. He pooped on a few other gadgets also and has doubts about Rabbit R1, etc etc. He did destroy Fisker Ocean but his review is not the reason why the company tanked first time or the 2nd time. Stock was below $1 way before he review the Ocean SUV.

The terrible rating he did for AI Pin echos what everyone else said. He also did a so so review on Cybertruck - the quality etc. but acknowledges why people would love it.

You can argue there are always sponsored posts like other Youtubers but you have to look past that and see if what he reviewed is spot on for your own experience.

Now, why do you think he's an 'uninformed shill'?. I am curious why you think that.

What kind of shoddy list is this? The #1 selling SUV in the world (model Y) is not even in the top 10 in this list haha. I would agree the Ionic is bstter than a bolt tho. But far inferior to a Tesla

You have not explained your side except saying one is better than the other.

There are numerous complaints about the build quality of Tesla and constant change in company policies and vision. What I did not like is the suspension, no physical buttons, comfort.

What I liked about ioniq is fast charging, comfort, roomy, V2L, HDA2, roof that can be closed, warranty, availability and ability to negotiate
