I have the smart version of vitamix(model below Ascent), mine connects to phone to select whatever blending profile needed, little bit of hassle and I hardly use them, Ascent series have it directly on the blender, maybe you will end up using those profiles more.

This blender is amazing, it can blend through anything. But these new containers(the one coming with Ascent) they are wider at the bottom and less tall, compared to old one(7500 series). Apparently it was done so that it cab fit under cabinets, because it is wider at the bottom, you need more quantity to get it working, not very useful if you want to make single serving of smoothies or ice cream. That is big reason i hardly use this container and end up using smotthie attachment all the time.

Blendtec is where it is at. Stronger motors etc. Smilie My Vitmaix broke 3 times. They did warranty it tho, but still a pain.
