S23+ will get one(?) more year of updates I think. But seeing as it is a back up and you may not touch it, I would get the S22+. People poo poo on the S22+ battery life but again, its a back up. I am getting the S22+ for $200 for my work phone.

The s22 had the worst battery life though the plus may last a bit longer due to the larger battery. The s22 needed to be charged at least twice if not thrice to get through the day. So be forewarned there was a reason people hated the S22. It also had some heating issues. I have a S24 plus and battery life is on par with a iPhone 15 pro max and both phones are identical in size.

I am currently with Verizon with an S8+, what is considered the upgrade? - the S23+ or is there some upgrade plan or new line I need to sign up for? I basically want to replace my S8+ and would be fine pay over time. I have no plan to leave Verizon. Thanks.

I tried inserting a Visible SIM card ( which is a Verizon mvno) but it didn't work for me. I got a message that the phone is locked to Verizon, despite the fact that Visible uses the Verizon network

Also using an S21+ bought last year, I don't feel like the newer models make much of a difference in daily usage for someone who only sends text messages and surfs the internet on Chrome. I'll probably switch to an iPhone next, or the next Samsung model that offers more than just a processor upgradeā€”perhaps a hidden camera or a larger fingerprint scanner area.

Verizon will usually only put upgrade restrictions on those with extremely old grandfathered unlimited data plans... if the phone number you're trying to upgrade, doesn't currently have a device payment plan on it..you should be good to go

Yeah, so I tried to purchase this since I have a Verizon monthly prepaid plan. It won't let me buy it. This is a way of sucking you into a contract. I would say caveat emptor on this one and Slickdeals needs to bury this "deal" in the dirt.

I am not sure if this question has already been answered. Per Verizon website, they will unlock the device automatically in 60 days. What is not clear to me is, do I have to be in an active paid service within this 60-day period? Or can I cancel my line earlier and still have the phone automatically unlocked in 60 days?
