Nope. QD OLEDs (Samsung) are different from OLED (LG) panels. OLEDs have a white sub pixel layer where as QD OLEDs don't. QD OLEDs typically have better panel uniformity from my experience. LG OLEDs have an advantage when it comes to size because they can produce panel sizes up to 97" where as QD OLEDs are currently capped at 77". Lastly color brightness and vibrancy is much better on QD OLED as well.

It depends on use case. If you absolutely need Dolby Vision then I'd recommend you go with LG or Sony. The equivalent Sony QD OLED is way more expensive. The only LG OLED than can compete with QD OLED is the G series that's equipped with MLA Technology.

I'd go with the QD OLED unless you absolutely hate Samsung or you need Dolby Vision. Stay away from the S90C 83" because it doesn't use a QD OLED panel.

IMO... the 5 yr Costco Warranty is better than the 2 yr BB warranty. The 5 yr Costco warranty coverage is as follows: Yr 1 - Manufacturer, Yr 2 - Costco, Yrs 3-5 - Allstate. My 65" C1 (purchased @ Costco) developed burn-in during year 2 of the warranty, and I received a full refund through Costco Concierge. That's as good as the BB 2 yr warranty that covers burn-in, and then there's 3 more years of coverage through Allstate/Costco (though that 3 yrs does not cover burn-in).

Plus with costco there is no jumping through hoops and you don't have to deal with the atrocious samsung customer support if something were to go wrong, which looks to be quite likely. No brainer, I'm thinking about getting one too.

I have a S95D coming in the next two weeks but this deal has me on the fence. Not because of the price but burn-in warranty.

It's a 2 year coverage from Costco then All State for the remainder. I read the All State terms and conditions - it does exclude burn-in. Does year 3-5 still go through Costco? I doubt I'll keep the TV that long but who knows. Thoughts?

The remaining three years of your warranty goes through All State. I've heard mixed things about them, but I haven't deal with them directly. It's better to have some type of warranty once your initial warranty expires.

Samsung has a feature if you pause on something, it'll detect a still picture and go to a screen saver mode. I suspect other vendors have the same.

Interesting. I had always heard that LG OLED tech is superior to Samsung's. Good to hear a different perspective.

I bought this TV from Costco last October for $500 more. No regrets. It's hooked up to a q990 set of speakers and the Q symphony setups works flawlessly.

At this price and a 5 year warranty it's a steal. The only con is lack of Dolby Vision in comparison to its competitor but if you do the research or compare the TVs side by side, you'll see the LG brightness does not compare. So even with Dolby Vision it does not deliver the same picture quality.

The LG fanboys/girls will hate. I have a LG oled... I just wanted the best overall oled for the money and if you look at some reviews you'll find most would agree.
