Microsoft support on this line has gone to absolute garbage. I'm honestly a little shocked they are even coming out with another. Based on the way they handle hardware support during device failures, they seem completely uninterested in them as a product line.

I love the form factor of the surface pro. If they could make a surface pro that had a discrete GPU - not even a great one by modern terms, just one that could perform at a GTX 970 level - it'd be hard to pass up. But I don't know if such a thing will exist anytime soon.
The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is a Surface Pro clone with 4060.
Yeah, agreed - it's too bad though, I really enjoy the portability of them. I even like the whole "cover as a keyboard" setup, though I know that's not everyone's cup of tea.
I would LOVE to have a MacBook in the form factor of a surface pro.
I tried iPad + keyboard is too limiting for what I need as daily driver. I can't stand iPad OS, too big for just iPad apps, I need the be able to run full chrome experience with multiples personas and individual extensions installed.
there have been rumors that iPad will eventually run macOS but that would cannibalize MacBook sales too much I'm afraid so it will never happened either.
Only surface pro 9 X with Qualcomm has it right now but don't by it now since surface 10 is coming
New surface 10 is supposed to have LTE/5G on both intel and Qualcomm chips coming soon. Pray Qualcomm arm chip has better software support. To be determined.
The new surface 10 is at least $1500 for a 16GB version though. They jacked it up.
first business x86 version does not have 5g (weird I know). variant coming, def will be in the ARM64 version but that's to be announced in May I think,

honestly unless you are only carrying this thing, I would not get devices with built-in 5G/LTE.
I ended up tether to phone + dedicate hot spot so I can any machine I want online. It's more work to carry with a hot spot but it's just far more flexible.
If this surface is your 90% daily carry and you don't have access to secure-wifi often then built-in 5G is sweet. I did like it when I had it on my Surface 9X. Just not love the machine and OS enough to keep using it the device.

Thanks again for the wonderful, detailed link to 10. Is Surface 10 already available for business customers? If so, will 10 for personal users be released later? I will wait for Surface pro 10 and decide!

Battery, not easy. Anything is possible but not an easy task like the SSD
