I always use Energizer Industrial batteries. They are the same batteries just not packaged for individual sale and come in 24 or 100 quantities.
24 is usually $14 and 100 is around $40.

I've tried all three, and the Energizers last longest and leak the least. YMMV
YMMV indeed. I just threw a pack of these away because they leaked in the package. They were in a drawer at room temperature and were supposed to be good until 2031.
In the past, Duracell and Energizer were always good. I do not recall any leakage ever if you go back a decade or so. Now it does not seem to matter if you buy the "quality" brands or not. I have even had them leak in regularly used TV remotes.
I have been buying energizer batteries from HD for a while now, their price is 49cents per battery whereas this Amazon deal with s&s is still 55 cents. Talking about the 36pack from HD currently at $17.87.
