TravelPro is known to be a pretty good brand. you should review the dimensions just to be sure bc the carry on is slightly bigger than the standard domestic size but I've never had a problem with mine flying on the major airlines.

you are not buying from Costco but the brand directly with a special discount, so the normal Costco return policy does not apply and you would not be getting the 2% benefit through the executive membership or citi card .

I like mines. it's definitely not as flimsy as the Samsonite and Delsey sets I saw in Costco, even though they're also made of Polycarb. My only concern when I bought it was the carry on size. Most airlines will says their carry on limits are 22x14x9, and this one is 23x14.5x9.5, but I've taken it on the major airlines (America, Delta, Southwest and Alaska), and haven't had any problems putting it in the overhead bin.

If you primarily travel internationally, this will most likely be too big for most airlines.

Make sure you read their warranty terms and conditions very carefully for this Roundtrip product series (https://travelpro.com/pages/trave...E-warranty).

Luggage companies, as good as some are, still require you to personally bring damaged luggage to a limited number of repair facilities across the country, or have it shipped at your own expense to them to asses whether the damage is "covered" before they possibly replace or repair and ship it back to you.

If you live far from a repair center, it's expensive to ship such a large item to them to do that assessment, and even then, they might reject your claim and have you pay for them to ship it back to you unrepaired.

TravelPro's warranty for the Roundtrip product line DOES include ONE YEAR of "worry-free" damage claims (which they pay for shipping of the suitcase to/from their repair centers, and covers damages caused by mishandling of an airline) BUT ONLY if you register for their extended warranty within 120 days of purchase. Again, this extended warranty is ONLY valid for ONE YEAR. After that, airline-caused damages are NOT covered, AND you have to get the suitcase to them at your own expense to assess for warranty applicability/deniability for repairs at their discretion.

Since this deal is through TravelPro and not sold directly by Costco (as some previous members mentioned already), Costco's near-unlimited return policy does NOT apply to this deal, so you have to deal everything through TravelPro.

I personally would rather buy a suitcase through Costco direct, so that if/when it does break, I can take it back to ANY Costco and get it exchanged or refunded, virtually with no time limitation since it's considered a durable good.

Even if you don't buy from Costco, you can buy second-rate suitcases at discount retail stores like Ross for the same price it would be to ship a TravelPro suitcase to and from their repair centers. For the price of a TravelPro, you could buy 2 - 3 sets from Ross.

I've been bitten before by these so-called "lifetime warranties" from luggage companies, and they are far more hollow than they would have you believe, chocked full of asterisks and fine print limitations.

My recent southwest flights have been so packed they were asking passengers to measure their bags in the bin, i really wonder how strict they can be on 1 extra inch

I recently bought both TravelPro carry-on and checked bags (but not this style) but I made sure that the carry-on bag's total dimensions are within the airlines standard requirements (22x14x9). As previous posters mentioned, it's worthwhile to check since the sizing varies on the carry-on bags.

It's only by a couple of inches because their dimensions can refer to just the "case" or "overall" which includes the wheels & handle. The carry-on bags are described as "global", "international" or "compact" to further confusion, so it's best to check the dimensions before buying.

I bought the "compact" carry-on bag, since some recent reviews show more airlines are starting to enforce the bag sizer limits, particularly on international flights. Flying is difficult enough these days, so I'd rather avoid potential issues at the boarding gate.

Costco had some on clearance at the store, but there's some good deals on Woot right now for soft, hard sided and duffel bags.

Nordstrom rack has a bunch of travelpros in sets and singles. Price seems on par or better than this deal.

Maybe Briggs&Riley? The Torq and Sympatico bags.. They're also are available on through CostcoNext but it's a premium brand.
