Nothing will convince you to stop your penny pinching ways like a few nights sleeping on a flat mattress on top of the cold hard ground.
Yep, self-inflating pads are a thing. You open the valve and wait, then fully inflate with a few final blows.
Generally speaking, those are heavier and larger though.
Without a foam or fibrous interior an air-only mattress is much colder. Perhaps a good thing in summer but a definite no for cold weather.

I camp on my bike trips, I use a blow up pad, mummy sleeping bag, sleeping bag liner, one person tent and a piece of tyvek under the tent. Whole setup fits in a standard saddle bag with room to spare and weighs under 8lbs. With heavy socks, it's good to just below 30 all night. Use my compressible clothes bag as a pillow. To each his own to balance comfort, weight, cost, and size. Blow up lightweight pads are not great by any means but can fit into an overall plan.

Mine came in yesterday. Messed around with them last night, like the YT review said easy to get them back into the bag without a hassle of rolling it up "just right". Also notice that they include a patch for it, and instead of it just being loose in the bag, it's actually attached to the Bag like a clothing tag. Nice touch. I like the dual ports too.

Much, much heavier. Like 1-2lbs vs 10-15lbs

I ordered 4 inflated 2 and laid in the about 30 minutes each they are comfortable and left them inflated overnight without issues i would recommend them to any one that is a a penny pincher and that wants something that folds very compact. I do regret not getting the larger size since I am 5'7 and 150 lb and I do fit in them but it would be nice to have extra room to roll around and not having your hands and feet hit the floor when u roll around

Recently learned that the air only are mostly useless for cold like you mentioned. Best/cheapest option is a foldable foam pad with reflective surface. The rollable yoga mat type doesn't provide much benefit either.

I own something similar, its not too comfortable generally and even worst below 50F. The only advantage is simple settup and it doesnt leak. If you car camp, buying a static pad and this cheap blow up might be a good combo as the R values are cumulative. The pad protects the bottom from hitting a rock or thorn and you get a combine 3.7R value.

I wouldn't take this below ~65 degrees at night. It's R1.6, which means only useful for hot climates. No, your warmer sleeping bag won't keep you warm enough below your body. All the insulation is squished underneath you and therefore ineffective.
I slept very well with this in a campground when the temperature dropped to 27 degree. Don't get me wrong, R-value is a good reference. However, as long as you have a good sleeping bag (I used two), then this pad can still work very well. It's super light and small. I'm thinking about getting more, maybe 8 of them in total, so I can stack 4 on top of the other 4.

I went hammock but still use air pads like this to keep my back from freezing in the hammock. For me it's an "and" issue not "or". Makes for a much better hammock experience.

Fair enough, I prefer an underquilt for that purpose

How do you get it to stay together and not flip ?

the sleeping pad has traction slip pads to keep your sleeping bag in place. So in theory, one pad can stay in place on the other.
