Did I read somewhere that you have to pay a subscription fee to create a private server or for item storage or something like that?

This game is terrible. Don't waste your money bc I paid $20 on Steam last fall and there was nothing to do in the game.
Literally nothing to do except gather materials and build ugly looking walls.

You get free storage for junk and ammo with the sub yes. There is plenty of storage without it. You really do not need a private server. You will rarely see others unless at public events

Well what have I missed? Can you name a couple of things?
Like there were zero missions and no NPCs. Certainly not what I expected compared to other FO games.

They added NPCs 3 years ago. They're literally everywhere but nice try.
