EDIT: I went ahead and just tried it. I chose Close Encounters of the Third Kind Director's Cut using this deal here on Vudu/Fandango at Home and yes, it did port/transfer to Apple as the Director's Cut and the Theatrical and Special Edition appear as Extras.

If you look closer on MA you will see for each version that right above the special features there is a film selection that includes all 3 versions. So, regardless of the version you buy on Vudu you'll have access to all 3 versions on MA.
