Non-returnable due to hazmat safety reasons
My parents have it and have had no issues cleaning it. There's also a clean function of some sort that runs hot water through the spout. They keep a cup on there to catch that water rather than having to take the tray out more often.

If you don't care about automatic milk frothing, Costco has the version of this with the manual milk frother for $450.
I've had this model for about 6 months now (bought it from Amazon for 600) and I love it. I'm a stay at home dad (to a toddler), and if things aren't dishwasher safe, I generally don't get them. The frother comes apart in a few pieces that are dishwasher friendly (I stick to the top rack), and the main black lid part can be just rinsed under warm water (it doesn't seem that milk actually even touches this part). And, I don't even wash it every day. Because the machine pulls the milk up through the straw to heat it, the bit that remains in the container is still cold. I read that many people just pop the whole closed container back in the fridge for the next day, so that's what I do. I wash it all every couple of days. and as someone else mentioned, after you make your drink, you press a button and the machine runs hot water through the frother to clean it
Hope that's helpful.
FWIW- This is the nicest (and most expensive) coffee machine I've ever had, and in my experience, I'd say buy with confidence.

Great machine! Got it for $600 at BB last year so this is a good deal.

I've had this (Costco's version, 'missing' the coffee button! Espresso only!) and the Phillips 2200 ($399 at Amazon a few months ago; more now). Both have the auto-milk function, where you add milk to the machine and it handles things from there.

I'm a milk + espresso person; add some chocolate and call it a mocha.

For any of these purchases, I would never dream of buying anywhere but Costco. I've returned these to Costco due to failures too many times.

I prefer the Phillips 2200 over this Evo; the benefit of the 2200 is far simpler milk cleanup. Otherwise, the coffee wasn't significantly different between the two, and the fact that Costco's Evo didn't even have a coffee button was a downer (but not so much for me).

I think the $399 Amazon sale for the 2200 (with LatteGo) is the best sale I've seen on these.

Also I've had: https://www.delonghi.com/en-us/di...CAM38085SB that, a significantly higher end machine, purchased for $999 at Costco during a sale a while back (the previous iteration of that same design, without a few of the blinky lights). Recommend that one too, but not for the extra $$$.

Seriously the Phillips 2200 at $399 at Amazon (when it's on sale) is hard to beat. It does all the basics, but has very little customization. If you're happy with the basics (espresso + frothed milk automatically, plus coffee), it's grand.

I also have this model. It's awesome.

Positives
- Consistently good pulls
- good temperature which can be adjusted
- various milk options
- chute for decaf

Some negatives

- water tank is not large. It has a filter inside which makes it smaller. Plus the machine will pre and post rinse every cup (unless consecutive).

- milk frother does need regular cleaning. I just leave it in water and shake it out, blow through it and rinse. I've not put like in the dishwasher.

That's because they've figured out too many people would return them just being persnickety. I wonder how they'll handle customers that actually receive a lemon (or damaged in shipping), will they receive a refund when they complain to Amazon? It's non-returnable, so you'll get to keep it, but will they refund the purchase price?

It seems like Amazon Prime is changing, with more and more items being declared "non-returnable". Obviously, they've determined they don't want anything to do with the refurbishing market, so everything just becomes "non-returnable". It streamlines their business. Products go out and don't come back. They'll take the hit on the small percentage that would have been returned.

If the item is defective or broken upon receipt, Amazon is still on the hook to replace or refund if it was shipped and sold by them (or fulfilled by Amazon) regardless of their return policy. If a jar of pasta sauce breaks in shipping, sure, they'll comp for things like that. It still the policy now, but they try to say "Sorry, this item can't be returned" and hope the customer will just say "Oh really? OK, I guess that's it then". It's a little shady to point to the non-returnable aspect if the product arrives broken or defective.

All of that aside, I would love to have this machine.
I took the "non returnable" to mean they won't accept a return to their warehouse. I'd imagine if it's damaged during shipping, they'll still require you to return it, just to avoid the inevitable scams of people claiming damage without any proof.

That's strange. They sell a $999 machine from Phillips and it's returnable.

From my experience, when the item says "non-returnable" they don't want it back whatsoever. It's happened a few times in the last 10 years or so in that exact scenario. Defective or broken non-returnable item, they tell me to keep it, give it away, or throw it away. They didn't want the item back, and I was fully refunded.

Received it today and they sent me the wrong model which only had 5 functions. No coffee and over ice function. Now they're having me return it and reorder it which will take another two weeks.

How is the experience cleaning the milk frother? Does anyone have any insight into how easy/hard it is to clean? The manual says it's dishwasher safe, does that work well?

Easy to clean. He machine has a flush feature for cleaning, but that only flushes the spout. I always remove the milk containe right away and do a rinse with hot, soapy water. No issues at all.

Agree with comments.

I would say that every so often, if you are making several drinks, the used coffee pucks fall in a manner that the machine thinks the catch is full, so you have to empty it.

Overall, this is a great machine.

Ugh yeah, I forgot that one. Sometimes its only two pucks and thinks its full. Mildly irritating!

Nice price but make sure you can return it! I recently bought a Philips 5400 from Williams-Sonoma which was defective. We easily exchanged it in store for another one (no issues). The new one works great! I would consider this Delonghi and compare to Philips.
