Fandango at Home (formerly VUDU) has Columbo: The Complete Original Series (Digital HDX TV Show) on sale for $24.99.
Thanks to Deal Editor Discombobulated for sharing this deal.
Product Details:
Includes all 7 seasons w/ all 43 episodes. TV show/series are notMovies Anywhere (MA) compatible.
With his rumpled raincoat, ever-present cigar, bumbling demeanour and Sherlock Holmesian powers of deduction, disarmingly polite homicide detective Lieutenant Columbo takes on some of the most cunning murderers in Los Angeles, most of whom made one fatal, irrevocable mistake: underestimating his investigative genius.
If I'm not mistaken, Columbo was not a true TV show. It was part of a movie of the week series. There 3 or 4 movies that rotated each week, resulting in a smaller amount of episodes each season.
First 7 seasons are also on Amazon Prime.

It hails from a time when people had more honor. Not as many people would go kicking and screaming while taking every chance to beat the system and feign innocence.
In modern TV shows they often are quick to admit guilt, faster than I think people would in reality.

I've said this before. If you are a specialist in a field, you ALWAYS have problems with a TV series. They are never accurate.
The IMDB website had forums where people would post inaccuracies. The forums were shut down. When we post stuff like that in a Facebook group for a show the moderators are likely to call it spam (that however is not the correct definition of spam). I think we need forums for people to submit reasonable and accurate inconsistencies. I think the ability to identify unrealistic stories should be taught in school. TV shows teach much garbage.

As for the digital deal, tough choice. I bought the whole series on DVD before the bluray set was announced, and while this is a great deal I was planning on buying the bluray set. Not much point in having the dvd and bluray and digital versions.

The quality of the blu-ray set is very good, but just note that it's only the '70s episodes. It was the definitely the heyday of the series, but I do enjoy quite a few of the '80s episodes.
Great show, great price. I love the random cameos from forgotten 70's actors and actresses. This is a good show to jump in and out of. The episodes are all stand-alone, so you don't need to binge them all in a row. My favorite episode is Suitable For Framing from season one.
Yeah, just like wine, the older it gets - the less people like it
Columbo is the classics, I was watching it when I was ehhh 5, I didn't get anything, but the dog Dog was nice, the whole cigar culture was new for me (foreigner here). Now when I watch it - I understand the references from my coworkers better, Seinfeld is another absolute must have!
I binged watched this show during COVID lockdown to maintain my sanity. Great show. Snagged this deal because there's always a need to chill out to masterpiece.

Kino is also releasing the 80s episodes on bluray in July I believe.
