Fortunately they came with the 2 year all state warranty (now it's extra) and I got my money back in a couple of weeks
I received a pair where one of the earbuds had an 8min runtime. The return process was easy and they paid for shipping both ways. The replacement works great and meets my expectation.

Same happened to my xm4 via secondipity via ebay. Got my money back too
eBay store I believe was 150. Because of the warranty. It would cost the same with the 2 year warranty on their website. I ordered from the website early in the week. I received my two orders today. Both came in ziplock bags. I'm sure these were returns and not refurbished ( I'm aware others say these can't be refurbished)
This would be the second ordered first was the Samsung pro buds that also would not work(one would not have sound)
Might return these if I get the battery drain issue immediately
Is the firmware the issue?
I received my order of WF XM4 (open box) and the box was empty - buds and case missing, only tips and cable in box. I emailed Secondipity right away and they refunded me within the hour.
The funny thing is, the box was for XM5s! So I almost got lucky with getting XM5s for $51 ($64 - 20%)!!! But the box was empty

It was $150 after tax
Also i'm shocked that sony ships these 300 dollar ear buds with the foam tips they do. I couldn't get any of the sizes to fit right in my ear and the first impression of them was absolutely horrible, they were not comfortable and noise canceling was not even better than the samsung buds 2 that i came from. And the sound was just fine, not a real improvement. That said, i purchased the AZLA SednaEarfit MAX Standard 3 Pairs (Size M/ML/L)), silicone tips from amazon and quite literally everything improved drastically on these things. Much better on all fronts than the samsung buds2. Battery life on these is stellar, they easily last an 8 hour work day which is nice when my buds were not even lasting 3 hours at the end. Only thing buds2 has on these is size and therefore a slightly better fit in the ear due to being smaller (and that would even be subjective to the individual). Bass and bass control is awesome on these sonys. They make a slight noise in your ear when you run with silicone tips but you can adjust around a bit to limit that. I've heard that before on other earbuds so it must not be easy to engineer out but it is more prevalent on these than buds2.
I just don't understand why you'd ship tips like that that only half the people actually like on your premium $300 earbud product. It's a terrible first impression and i'd feel jipped if i didn't read about that ahead of time and i purchased them near launch at a store. probably why secondipity has had these things on the cheap for months with all the people pissed and returning them to sony.
So if you get these, it is a very good price and they are great, but keep in mind you might have to invest in some nice tips afterwards if the foam ones they come with don't work out. You'd have to do that anyways if you bought for 300 new somewhere. You can get cheap tips but if you're going to rock expensive earbuds, might as well put 30 into the tips to make them the best they can be.
I'm not sure about find my device. But you can just rename them under your Bluetooth menu. Find the device name. And then acog for settings finally pencil icon to edit/rename. I use something like "WIFI" so people at work don't see my buds are on
For me, yes. I personally did not find the AirPods comfortable, and I feel that the Sony noise cancellation is substantially better than the AirPod pros.
I bough the pros on a Friday, returned them on a Monday, and ordered these on a Wednesday.
That being said, there are areas where the AirPods shine, thanks to apples intentionally-walled garden. Bluetooth is more stable with the pros. You get battery life stats on the case in real-time, not so with the Sony. Being able to "find my" with each bud and the case in the find my app is nice. These don't support Spatial Audio "natively" like you do with the AirPods.
If you're heavily in the Apple ecosystem, I see the appeal of AirPod pros. But if you can get past some of Apples stumbling blocks they've placed in front of third party headphones, and you're in a mixed device environment, it is my opinion that these are superior. I get great multi-device simultaneous pairing with my windows work laptop and personal iPhone.
This is a good price, in my opinion.
