I have been using this plan for 3+ years.

A few things to know.
1. the plan only lasts 360 days, not a year.
2. renew price $30 does not include tax and fee. the tax and fee is about $1 or $2 for me.
3. If you forget to renew it when time is up, you have about 60 days to keep your number. There is an reactive fee of $1 if you forgot to renew the plan. This $1 is not a tax, not a yearly fee. It costs you $1 if you totally forget to renew the plan after 30 days.
You may want to link a credit card on RedPocket account so you get auto renew.

When I know I will have friends / family fly into US, I mail this SIM card out. I tell them to put this SIM card into their unlocked phone and call me when their flight lands at an airport. It saves $$ and make everything simple.

I have this plan and use it to track my two young kids, put it in their backpack and use an old unlocked phone. Using life360 app can tell where they are at all times

this sounds like a great deal for an emergency back up cell phone.
I've been using their annual plan for $30/yr since May and it's been good on Unlocked Galaxy S20+ with 5G. Ebay still has it.

I bought the 1GB plan for $89 last year, saved $10 or .83/mo. Go to their ebay store and put the plans on your watchlist and you might get lucky.

The other alternative is to go monthly for a few months until the fall when BF/Holiday deals start appearing. I usually start shopping 90 days before my plan expires since the codes have a 90 day lifespan. Though, more and more, the deals are on their website and aimed towards new customers only not renewals.

I am trying to set up the service on a Samsung Watch6.
1. I bought this $30 annual GSMT SIM card from eBay and activated it on RedPocket's website for my Samsung mobile phone. Call and text work fine on the phone.
2. I chatted with RedPocket customer service about my goal to use the service on my smartwatch. She told me surely that they do not support eSIM on smartwatch, although they do support eSIM on iPhones etc.
Should I just ignore her and convert the SIM to eSIM? Anyone has done this recently?

Edit: I just went ahead and converted to eSIM by online chat. The CS agent did it quickly. I scanned the QR code to install the eSIM on my watch and it seems to work fine!

This.
I guess SD makes money for not expiring a non-deal.

Old thread but hope this helps if you need to activate on a watch. (used a watch 5 pro).

1. Activate your service with RedPocket.
2. Go to Summary -> Your active line -> replace the SIM or eSIM.
3. Follow directions to convert the SIM to eSIM (it will charge you $2).
4. Activate the new eSIM on the same line (confirm the details on the final page). I had to wait about 5 minutes for the eSIM to be generated and available for swap\activation.
5. Obtain QR code. If your page refreshed for some reason, they will also e-mail it.

To activate on the watch:
1. Disable your mobile networks on the phone and only connect to WiFi. I had a lot of trouble with the watch attempting to pull plans from my phone's lines even after QR scan was enabled.
2. Open Wearable app ->Three dashes up on left -> Settings (gear icon) -> About GW
3. Tap "Galaxy Wearable" five (5) times to open hidden menu.
4. Test ESIM Feature -> Change QR test mode to ON.
5. Go back to watch -> Watch settings -> Mobile Plans. It should look for a moment and allow you to Use Code.
6. Scan QR code from page\email and allow time to activate.
7. When done open your watch -> Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks -> Mobile Plans. The T-mobile-XXXX plan should now be available, Simply turn it on.
To test functionality disable Bluetooth on your phone and Wifi on watch. When LTE connects you can test data and calls.

Enjoy saving $7-10\month.

I bought this a few weeks ago and it was free shipping. But now it's $6.05 shipping, even for a renewal. With tax it would be $40 now. Not happy about the extra shipping cost.

Ouch. Checked it myself, looks like RP is further driving users to their web plans or plugging the beach house loophole. Well, that stinks. Here's my incentive to let 3 of my 4 lines to lapse come next renewal.
