the Cantina soft shell was surprisingly good and the best tasting part of the meal though I would never pay full price for it
the hard shell version was the worst part (if you don't count the locos shell falling apart but that is an expected given)
will wait for their next $5 box offering, despite the cost this was not one of their better efforts
YMMV
I was going to combine it with the $1 Cantina Chicken taco today but left with just the taco out of principle.
Another annoying thing with the app is when you have two gift card balances it won't use both to cover the charge if one isn't enough to cover the whole bill. They both show in the checkout but it ends up pulling the whole amount from the larger balance. I had $0.15 that never gets used. The only way to use the smaller one is to combine it with a credit card to cover the balance.

That's ingredients for 12 tacos and there's going to be leftovers of everything but the beef.
$8.50 / 12 = $0.71
Taco Bell has crazy high markups on everything they sell.
That's really cool and all…but have you checked gas prices lately? Also: how much do you value your time?
Absolutely cook at home! But don't pretend that it doesn't require work to collect all of the ingredients, drive them home, prep them, and then wash and clean your pans, dishes, and utensils.
The entire point of fast food is that it's easy.
I'll be the first to argue that grocery shopping and meal-prepping is the right way, but this serves an entirely different purpose.
What I think we can all agree on is that stupid Doritos taco is and always has been trash. It literally obliterates the first time you bite it, and God help you if you try to eat it in your car
